Me too. In fact I'm hoping it comes out sooner than later so I don't have to look elsewhere.

What I meant is that lease deals on new models normally suck. The initial deals on i4's were so bad itade buying a better deal.

Now that they don't qualify for a tax credit on purchase, but BMW can pass it through on the lease that's a plus.

But normally; cars in high demand get crappy lease deals because the next guy will buy the car. So new models in high demand have bad leases.

I think the lease deals, if you can get one on and M2, M3 or M5 are going to pretty much suck. I don't even see loyalty discount on these models.

I'm leasing my iX. But as MSRPs & EV Market stablize, and people get more educated about EVs, it's likely that depreciations on EVs will be less than ICE cars. Which is already happening.

When you buy a used EV, the only thing you need to worry about is battery condition, that can be checked easily. No need to worry about oil leakage, missed maintenance, timing chain, fuel pump, ignition coil, rod bearings, transmission, and the list goes on.

Same. But the lease rates are still fairly attractive relative to comparable ICE. The depreciation on EVs will continue on any model that’s overpriced. They’re cheaper to make than ICE and the up front costs and scale issues should mean prices come down like Tesla. The battery life is still a concern for non-Tesla manufacturers - especially if they have known issues, like Porsche. BMW seems to be doing better.

But I doubt that Porsche or BMW or Audi will actually lower prices.

The discounts on the iX are quite good and low money factor but the residuals are low and offset by the up front $10k lease incentive and other discounts. If those incentives disappear they’ll have to drop prices or further discount. On a $90k MSRP $5k down and $799 a month is crazy good- Mercedes would be $5k down $2k/month at the same price point for an ICE. From BMW ICE you’d be looking at an X3M50 for that type of payment. Or on an M60 iX $1100/mo which is around an X5M60 - a $30k lower MSRP and arguably a better vehicle but if it’s BEV you want that’s a killer deal for what the iX offers relative to Merc or Tesla. Full leather, 600+ hp, air suspension, RAS (IAS), b&w, massive wheels, tons of interior space, etc.

Right. The iX inventory was growing like crazy, the cars weren’t selling- unlike the i4 and now the i5 seems to be doing well. Look at the sales figures, the iX is not in demand. It’s great for buyers who want an iX like me- no money down, $20k off, low money factor on a brilliant car.

The M3 ICE car will live on and it will not have the performance of the EV.

There is a reason the best selling car with an M badge last year was an i4 M50.

544hp and almost 590lb-ft of torque with AWD that gives a current M3 Competition a run for its money.

At real world daily driver speeds the i4 M50 holds its own. Mind you it clocks in at 1000lbs heavier than the M3.

Also it does a pretty good job of doing something with all the weight. Mine is lowered on Eibach springs.

Is it a track car? Nope. But I suspect the EV M3 will have at least a 100 more HP and a better top speed. Maybe better battery tech so shave a few hundred pounds of the i4.

The current G80 M3C is already fast enough. Unless you are a competitive race car driver at a track, you don’t need any more power. More power, especially with a boring EV doesn’t make for a better driving experience. EV’s just plain suck!

BMW is no longer targeting us old school enthusiast types. That’s not where the dollars are. Sad but true. Which is why many of us BMW lovers of the old are turning to a Porsche. Hopefully they continue to stay true and steady 🙏🏻

Isn't the current M3 xDrive already basically 4,000lbs? I understand a 1000 pound gain would suck like in the new M5, but even if the weight of the current M3 increased just by 50 pounds it wouldn't be "an M3" according to you.

Interesting that they chose to use Tim Meadows as their actor. I see him all the time getting coffee at Heritage Coffee on Lincoln Ave in Chicago and he drives a Tesla…

Sure, but I'm not sure what sales will look like. Seems as awesome as the Taycan is, sales are not meeting expectations. Maybe that will change when EV is the only choice. Or maybe people will be less likely to spend top dollar on electric sports cars, especially when everything is heavy and base model 0-60 is so quick.

There isn't any mainstream brand that cares more about old school enthusiast types. BMW is still selling:
RWD 6MT roadster; Z4
RWD 6MT small coupe M2,
RWD 6MT larger coupe M4,
RWD 6MT sedan M3

in 2025. Despite nobody is buying them, at all.

They will also release a new ICE performance car in 2026. (Which doesn't make any sense financially)

Well, I can see you are biased and not objective.

They suck "in your opinion".

I think there is space for both.
I like my M50 as a daily driver but it's not suitable for the track. I'm buying an M2 for that.

Unless you’re a shareholder this is a good thing. My wife just got smoking deal on a Taycan — I hope they end up giving these EV M3’s away. Come to papa….

Ha well if it soothes your strange regional butthurt, know that I love cars in general. My Z4M is fully catless, loud, and smells like shit. I just picked up a new set of turbos to bring my G82 to around 900 hp or so. Wife’s new toy is a Taycan CT Turbo S, and is so good in so many ways. Weird concept for a car enthusiast to love cars, I know
