i'm a second year student in high school, and i don't have a license yet so i don't have much to do and can't really get out of the house. that's why i'm here most of the time posting and such. if you ask why i'm here, i will be purchasing an E92 in mid-december so i'm just collecting info and planning out my mods early. before anyone starts flaming me about getting a bimmer at an early age, i will be paying for the majority of the car and modifications myself, so please don't assume i am spoiled and start going on about how i don't deserve the vehicle or anything like that. sorry OP for

I don't mean to sound like I'm passing judgement on you, but you're making 142 posts/day and you're a high school student. That means you're not earning any significant amount of money, so don't even begin to tell people you're going to pay for a $50k car+mods on your own. That's insulting our intelligence.

Doh!! +2 Even as a college student I can say I don't have enough money to buy a bimmer. That is why I actually don't own one! You are just going to be another statistic that comes along with living in Southern California.

NOW BACK TO TOPIC!!!

I believe that with a just a tad bit more power on the ground and the tires hooking up just right a 9.80 is attainable.

1. I'm not looking at a brand new vehicle worth $50k+, I'm spending ~$35-37k max on the CPO'ed car.
2. 142 posts can be done in just a little over an hour, so it's not like it takes the whole day.
3. You know nothing about me and what I do to achieve my goal of an E92.

Just because i'm a high school student, it doesn't mean I don't have the proper knowledge of financial responsibility. ~90% of the money I have gotten has gone straight to the bank, and none of it gets taken out. I have been saving for a BMW for the past six years, originally for an E46 but I had changed my mind to an E92 when it released. All $29k I have currently saved, I worked my ass off for it day and night. How? For the past couple of years, I have been working with a friend importing RHD cars from Japan, and we have been modding and selling them. Although we split the work equally, I earn 40% of the intake and i'm thankful that I have an oppurtunity like this especially in this economy. So please, just get off my sack.

You're full of shit kid. Give it up. No one's buying that a 13-15 year old is importing cars from Japan, federalizing them, modding them, and then turning a profit on them.

If you're getting the car, I don't have a problem with it, but please don't feed us a line of BS about how you're paying your own way while going to high school. We know better.

unless his parents are investing the money into this business and the kid is just helping out and gets the profits as a reward from his parents for not being a complete slacker spoiled brat. I've seen stranger things.

I'm not the one importing & federalizing the vehicles, my partner who is not 13-15 or anywhere near my age, but is 26 is the one managing that. What I do is help modify and work on the vehicles, and find buyers. Please don't assume shit and call BS when you don't even know me. Thanks.

Plus there are Z06 TT kits you can buy that make 760bhp (1200 at increased boost but requires others mods - forged pistons, etc).

possibly, but GM made a smart move w the supercharge.

Instant TQ is where its at if you want the car to be any good on a road course...which GM has certainly accomplished.

I'm just dying to see where the tuners take this car on the basically stock platform. Keep the bolt ons coming guys!!!

Save the TT fully built vettes for the dragstrip and weekend cruising.

The Z06 uses the LS7, which is a 505Hp, 7.0L normally aspirated engine. The ZR1 uses the LS9, which is a 640Hp, 6.2L Supercharged engine. It's also got exotic brakes, larger wheels and tires, magnetically adjustable suspension, and some additional weight reduction to offset the increase created by adding the other hardware.

The Z06 isn't as fast, but it's a little more raw than the ZR1, and probably the better choice for track duty.

yes...much more, as it should be.

Hell the brakes alone would probably run you 15-20k if you purchased them w/ out the car. same Carbon brakes as the Ferrari Enzo.

I'm not necessarily criticizing the ZR1 for being supercharged. I agree that for the track a SC is the way to go. I'm just saying hypothetically if it was TT for this drag..... then... damn

yup, GM could have put out the ZR1 w a super hot version of the LS7. Tuners are getting well over 600whp fully N/A out of the LS7 which is just wicked! However that type of engine would not be very friendly for street use and i'm not sure they would get it past the EPA.

GM based the LS9 design on an LS3 engine because the cylinder wall dimensions are actually thicker than on the LS7 (by about only a 1/10 of an inch). So this made the engine slightly more resistant to the heat that would be generated by FI.

Even the TT Kits for the Z06 out by tuners rarely push past 6PSI (which is usually enough to get the car to 750whp anyway).
