The control arms was one of many issues with the car when it came out. Ford tested a car built one way, I think there was a handful or two tested. Then when it came to the actual production of the car trying to fill the demand, Ford and all who were involved building the car went cheap on how the car was produced. It wasn't the same car/parts as what was initially tested on the track. That led to the numerous problems. There is a lot more to the initial productions that came out then what some of you seem to know.

Ok man, you win. You completely missed the point of this thread, and it has turned into a pissing matching in which you are trying your hardest argue a minority point of view.

Fine by me, you are entitled to your opinion. That said, please move on so this thread could get back on topic.

Thanks for the kind words brother... That GT truly is badass!

It srsly took me over a month to coerce Doug into driving it to work, and he keeps it in absolutely immaculate condition.

Yeah I'd rather have an Isetta than that domestic POS, as long as you put an N54 in it....

No, on second thought, that would be the dumbest thing I had ever said in my life.

Look, you don't have to like the GT, you don't have to like Ford, but to not give props to an incredible car where props are due (because of the badge on it or its country of origin), that definitely shows you know nothing about what makes a great car great. You might as well just admit you're an ignoramus by definition when it comes to cars.

Simply put, the GT blows the 335 and the N54 out of the water in every aspect, probably to include reliability as well. But you don't like it because it's a domestic? That's weak.

I would give just about anything to own a GT......I actually have my nuts out right now and if you wanted one of them but offered a GT in return I would give you my left one

If it wasn't for post like this and a few others, I'd have thought BMW forums were as bad as STI or EVO forums. It's nice to see that not everyone here is a fanboy.

What it does is make it obvious that you're completely clueless. You don't know what makes one car better than the other, you're just regurgitating the same old tired BS you've read on the internet.

How old are you anyway? 21? Younger?

No, there's a lot more to it than YOU seem to know.

The control arm issue was caused by using a new forming process in an effort to make the components lighter. The parts being sold were the EXACT same parts on the cars tested, and it was actually first discovered on one of the pre-production cars.

Cool

The amazing thing is the ZR1 is as fast in the 1/4 mile, and traps about the same speed.

That is kind of surreal.

I must disagree. I'd say he's a brand whore rather than a tool. Although one could argue that being a brand whore automatically makes one eligible for the tool title as well
