With Jenson's fuel load....i'm sensing a Safety car around lap 15-17???
So he can leap frog everyone and push after the Safety Car and hopfully build a big enough gap for this pit stop....

Anyone else think Barrichello could have crashed on purpose? Here's the theory:

Brawn has been aggressively courting Mercedes in an attempt to get them to invest and become their primary team in F1, shifting away from McLaren.

By crashing when he did, Barrichello locked in Lewis Hamilton's pole position. This greatly benefits Mercedes. Both Vettel and Rosberg were on pace to complete quicker laps than Hamilton, until Barrichello crashed.

Barrichello's car was relatively uncompetitive and he's already set to take a 5 spot penalty due to a transmission change.

So Mercedes tells Brawn "Have Barrichello crash his car and we will invest more money with your team next season."

I think it's entirely possible that this happened. It makes just as much sense as what Renault did.

Frankly, I'm starting to believe that the outcomes and "drama" in F1 is largely scripted, similar to pro wrestling. It's too convenient, the way when one crisis ends a new one begins almost the next day. First was the "liargate" thing in Australia. Then all the stuff with Max Mosely and Ron Dennis. Then Renault getting banned for sending Alonso out with a loose wheel. Then all the drama surrounding next year's team lineup. then the Piquet crash scandal, etc. It's all a joke.

And i'm not surprised...espcially with this "sport" involves so many "partners" and "sponsors"....they need some "drama" to keep the audience in suspense and interest...just boring lap and lap racing (cough...Valencia....) is not gonna work.....and Honda pulling out during winter break...and all the FIA vs FOTA during the 4 week summer break....

however, since the race itself still involves so much speed, technology, mechanical and aerodynamic grips...race pace and stuff....its still awesome to see racers fighting neck to neck (e.g. Spa-2008!!!)...and even go to see one LIVE!!!

I'm in the pits this weekend. Anyone wants to ask Mario any questions?

They didn't look too happy about the qualifiers though.

Some photos from my P&S camera.

great job Hamilton and got lucky when Rosberg got the drive thru penalty and Vettel suffers brake problems....

and cannot believen Jenson got a jump on Rubens on pitstop....good for him...

Where have you been in the past decade???
When have you seen more than 15 track passes (exclude back markers) in a race??? Not much...

F1 has been harder and harder to pass since they introduce downforce....

I think Singapore race is alright...Valencia is even worse....it was actually tense to see if BGP001's brake on the edge of failing and spun out like Webber....and possibly Rubens will catch up to Jenson....

On a side note...its great to see Alonso just speaks out from his heart..."The podium is for Flavio..."
If it wasn't Flavio...Fernando won't be a two time world champion....great character....

Race was meh. I was hoping for some more thrilling action towards the beginning. Honestly, it was more fun waiting for someone to blow a motor or have a brake failure, than expecting a pass. Even the whole night race thing lost its novelty since this track is pathetically boring.

Relax bro. I realize passing is rare but I was just bored with this race. Watching Vettel follow Hamilton for laps and Buemi hold up the entire back half of the field for bleems got frustrating....made me wish these guys could just have closer racing and be a bit more aggressive.

I think its also due the long race (almost 2 hours) and the humid and hot weather in Singapore...honestly....i'd rather watch Spa again in 2008 and 2009....the dual race is epic (especially Hamilton vs Raikkonon)....

a tight tension race (like P2 is catching half a secone a lap with 10 laps remaining with a 4 sec gap) is so much better than "night and a big party" race....what people worried after last year's singapore race was correct....the track itself doesn't provide too much overtake opportunity....

and without massa's epic fuel hose incident and piquet's crash....it was also a boring race last year....even Hamilton just nurse the car for P3 and not chasing on Rosberg in the final stages....

with more and more races will be held in evening (especially Asia pacific races)...Singapore will lose its speciality in the F1 calender....

btw...has anyone realize during the race....SPEED's commentators lost for words because it was so boring and kept mentioning how great the view and backdrop of Singapore....

c'mon man...can't be as bad a Valencia....

the scored twice as the worst race in 2008 and 2009....

Ok troll.

I think F1 just needs to stick to the classic tracks. Silverstone and Spa are always amazing. I'm sure Suzuka is going to be the same and I can't wait for Sunday's race. The tightly wound tracks like the Hungaroring, Valencia, and Marina Bay might be difficult to a degree, but they don't let anyone enjoy the sport.
