i got a 730d and a 745li ... check some of the threads ive done back in the day... i also had a S500 *388bhp*

well to be honest the 745li is very refined and you hardly hear it , its quite a lazy engine compared to the CLS55... that thing is an absolute beast

i've seen a lot of comparisons involving e55/e63, m5, s6 and so on. i dont know if you've driven an e55/e63 and obviously they have the same engines as the cls's but what made you choose a cls over an e class, styling alone?
great car tho, that engine is brilliant

Awesome. Personally I think Mercs are about the most retarded cars built today because they have A.D.D. Are they meant to be stylish, are they meant to be well engineered, are they meant to be luxurious. Merc just can't seem to figure out what they want to be, and they don't succeed at anything. Serious identity crisis.

Ahh ... but then you have the AMG cars. For me that's they only thing they're doing right.

I'd purchase an E55 or CLS55 (or 63) over anything BMW has to offer. Even an M car. They don't handle as well as an M car, and they're not meant to. My same complaint about identity crisis in the normal Merc lineup applies to the M cars. They attempt to turn a bloated road car into a race car and make it too hard in the process. AMG understands their customers, and makes extremely powerful, fast road cars.

You got it spot on mate :rocks: ! this is a brute in a tuxedo, that kicks pretty much anything in the teeth and at the same time manages to transport 4 people in utter comfort

the CLS is virtually an E class correct! i have once driven the e55 , and the visual factor was quite important , but you also have to note that the CLS has some noticeable differences so the E55 (which were only added to MY06 E55s), 40% quicker steering, which is also quite a bit "heavier" and more balanced.. Stiffer suspension, and a full remap of the AIRMATIC DC only for the CLS

BTW forgot to mention something ... i dont wont to brag but my car is unlike any other standard 55AMGS... it is one of the very few AMGs to include independent ventilation and heating (by remote) ... teh car was special order and the above was installed by AMG Manufaktur (the division that deals with customers' unique cars)
that sounds really cool.
