Hahja! Oh, man! I take these spaces for granted but your question certainly got my curiosity and I went into a voluntarily rabbit hole. LOL!

In short (short? Really? Ha!) they are all over souther California (at least) since a portion of new projects with parking onsite need to be allocated to low-emitting, fuel efficient, and carpool friendly cars as per requirements of CalGreen (The California Green Building Standards Code is the first-in-the-nation mandatory green building standards code).

As far as what is a “fuel efficient” car, those are defined as cars that “have achieved a minimum green score of 40 on the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE) annual vehicle rating guide.” So, I found the list (of course!), and guess what??!!!! The only recent M cars listed, all have 3 digits after the M. LOL!!! The latest M listed was a 2018 M2.

Knowing all of this unnecessary information, would I park there again? ABSOLUTELY!

GR86 are really nice-looking car. I am tempted to trade in my Telsa M3 and get one as a daily driver.
