I remembered your previous post on this topic when I saw this cartoon. I didn't think toy horses were going to shock you.

No worries. This is a unique situation. He was obnoxiously drunk and his friends complained that he was being a horse's ass to which he responded, "I'll show you. Hold my beer and watch this!"

I must frequent classier ER's. My Hospital has individual rooms with solid doors in the ER. What happens in the ER stays in the ER. Well it would if staff didn't spread that stuff all around the Hospital at lightning speed. And you know who you are.

About 15 years ago a female anchor on a local TV station showed up in the ER late one night hoping to find her vibrating companion. The search and retrieval was ultimately successful, and she was discharged. Seemingly before she even got home the story with all the details was all over the city and on the net. We never saw her again.

Some time around my high school years dad told me that real life is more
humorous or more weird than anything you can make up. Time has proven
him correct.

"Results
From 885 cases, there were an estimated 38,948 (95% CI, 32,040-45,856) emergency department visits for rectal foreign bodies among individuals ≥15 years from 2012 to 2021. The average age was 43, 77.8% were male, 55.4% of foreign bodies were sexual devices, and 40.8% required hospitalization. The annual incidence of presentations for rectal foreign bodies increased from 1.2 in 2012 to 1.9 per 100,000 persons in 2021 (R2 = 0.84, p < 0.01). Males have a bimodal age distribution peaking in the fifth decade, while females have a right-skewed age distribution peaking in the second decade. Female sex (odds ratio [OR] 0.4; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.2–0.6) and, compared to sexual devices, balls/marbles (OR 0.2; 95% CI, 0.05–0.6) or drugs/paraphernalia (OR 0.1; 95% CI, 0.05–0.4) are associated with a reduced odds of hospitalization."

Our local ER has only curtains, because they don't expect people to be there for long. Unfortunately, the proverbial inn was full when I was there, and they were stacking beds in the hallways waiting for rooms upstairs to open up. I was there waiting for a CCU bed for over three days, so long in fact that the CCU nurses had stuff moved downstairs to make me a temporary CCU "room" in the ER.

During my extended stay, there were two times when the entire ER went into lockdown due to shootings in the area. On the last night, the police dropped off a "frequent flyer" homeless mental patient who was attacking people on the streets and put him in the bed in the hall outside my "room". Hospital policy prevented them from restraining the guy, and I didn't get one minute of sleep that night because there wasn't even a thin curtain between me and and this guy. (I was there for so long that I started to learn the ER nurse's lingo, and it is the big reason why my philanthropic endeavors now include a sizable percentage to support nursing education/scholarships.)

I used to have a friend who was an X-ray tech at another hospital, and he had a "Kodak moment" of a hooked fire place poker stuck where fireplace pokers shouldn't be stored.....

I wonder how many are repeat customers. Is it a learning experience or do people keep going back for more?

I'm a standard deviate. Probability/statistics is exciting to me....or at least it used to until I read this!
