Agree, well done. I found myself thinking little Bruce was Baffleck. My only quip about the Wayne tie in is that I think this Joker was a little too old. This Joker would be in his early 50's by the time Bruce's psychosis turns him into Bats. I always thought there was a 15-20 yr difference between them, but what do I know.

Watched Midsommar and 3 From Hell this weekend.

Midsommar - was excited about seeing this after enjoying Hereditary as much as I did. Equally as f'd up as Hereditary is but it seemed to be nothing more than movie revolved around shock factor......there was lots of it. At the end, the girlfriend and I just looked at each other with confused "what the hell did we just watch" looks slapped across our faces.

3 From Hell - Enjoyed what I remember of it. I'll have to watch it again as we started late and I fell asleep during the last 20 minutes. Spoiler: I hated that Sid "Captain Spaulding" was only in it for a few minutes. It bore a lot of a resemblance of Natural Born Killers but done in Rob Zombies style of writing and directing. Enjoyable watch from a sick and twisted perspective.

Watched In the Tall Grass last night. Meh.....still not sure what to think. Didn't really care for it. I did enjoy Patrick Wilson's character/acting. Aside from that, it checked all the boxes of a horror film, but we spent the entire movie making jokes about everything as they happened.

Been out for a while and this was our third or fourth time of watching. Genuinely creepy "shock" movie for the month of Halloween and unlike some movies of the genre, the found footage technique works quite well in the claustrophobic catacombs under Paris. Much is left to the viewer's own imagination to work out what's going on and the ending open to much discussion and interpretation.
One of my favorites. Very well stated and agree completely.

Saw it when it came out... it’s junk. If you have two hours to spare while still doing other shit, you can watch it. Ha!

I've lost faith in Rotten Tomatoes. Actually that may be too strong. I should say I no longer trust it. There are too many movies (especially blockbusters) that got positive reviews that shouldn't. I guess a lot of them got sold out to advertising money.

rotten tomatoes. When you know who the actual people making these reviews are everything falls into place..

Saw in theatre, I think I had a few adult beverages beforehand. It's what I expected. If you suspend belief (or actually believe) then it's a campy 2 hours you'll enjoy watching.

It wasn't anything special....but decent enough to pass time if you have nothing else to watch.

A lot of problem I have with all these new movies with tons of special affects is none of them have any suspense. You don't sense any real danger. It's like watching a video game. Bunch of people get killed but you don't feel anything. Most of the time movies like Avengers are kind of meh. The first Iron Man was pretty good. The second one not too bad. The third one was forgettable. The first Avengers was cool for its novelty. I guess it counts for something. After that, it's mostly taken over by special affects with very little humanity. Likewise, the first Thor was good and it all went down hill from there.

Most of the suspense I got is from my real life lols.

MIB was good and entertaining. I like the entire cast so that helps.

IT Chapter 2 was not as good as the first but still definitely worth watching. It had some creepy AF moments for sure.

So last weekend, the other-half wasn't feeling well and I was resigned to the couch. So I got to watch a lot of old and newer horror stuff that she already told me she wouldn't watch.

I got all these in:

Last house on the left
The Belko Experiment
House of a 1000 Corpses
The Devil's Rejects

It was a good weekend!

I remember ads for The Belko Experiment and was interested in seeing it whenever it was free. But I haven’t seen it come up anywhere yet. I’ll have to check Amazon Prime, Netflix and DirecTV.

So robert Forester died the same day El Camino came out? It's a small world. I thought El Camino was real good. Especially the gun fight.

RIP

I thought the movie was a bit disappointing from the aspect of there was no "surprise"; nothing that popped up which was completely unexpected. It really seemed overly cautious with the story. And the flashbacks with Todd were tiresome considering he was not really a major character.
