In Europe we only have the 340 hp version, so in terms of performance the gap between the Supra and the M2 is quite big, cannot be competitors. |

Agree. I still think it's an attractive car (minus the rear), but in my mind the F87 is a better design. I'm probably biased because I own one lol. BUT if I was in the same spot now as I was in 2016 in terms of the type of car I was looking for I would 100% buy this. It's just not out of this world different enough to warrant an upgrade to me.

Nah, it's the truth, and people need to stop being BMW bias.
It's ugly IMO, and I'm not gonna defend BMW on it. If you or other people like it, then you like it. Just don't expect the majority of people to, and expect alot of the same comments if you own one. Quote:
Their engineering department is doing fine with the engine and tech, but their aesthetic department needs a kick in the ass, remember the big sniffers on the 3/4 series? they got so much crap for it, that the new LCI, they changed the grills back to something better looking.

Car looks better than the leaks but still looks weird
Wouldn't bother upgrading to this from an older M2/1M

I definitely agree that the F87 looks better - no doubt about it.
But to be fair, this isn't the G87CS. It's the standard M2. A more fair comparison would be to put up a picture of the OG M2, which is certainly calmer / plainer than the later-arriving Comp and CS models. It's reasonable to think that the G87C and CS will get similar "flair" and arguably look better. Honestly, I am not a fan of certain aspects of the car - no need to rehash those, but I think what we all really care about is how the thing drives. With the suspension tuning advances, better / wider tires, and improved steering (hopefully), I assume this thing will drive very well and be a performance-based improvement over the OG M2. I want to see one in the flesh...

The tail lights bothered me on the 1M, on the M2, and on this one. I still like the design, its not pretty, but it has that 1/2 series vibe still which is "cool" looking. |

People forget that the design of the original M3 and the 1M were not well received when they came out. Now we revere them |

Looks like you have plenty of choices according to your profile. Enjoy the G87. It's going to be a great car.

And if you think internet “crap” is going to hurt BMWs feelings or make them change their design direction I’ll point to the aforementioned 4 series, the i4, the XM, the 7 series, the X7 and most importantly of all the iconic M3 (and M4). This car, like the G80, will break sales records. Whether we like it or not. |

This M2 looks like it's RWD only, and it's only 100lbs lighter than the G8X with xDrive, and it's underpowered? (ofc it can be fixed with a tune, but probably need FEMTO) Will it break sales records? We'll see in the coming year.

Have to say much better than the leaked photos especially from the back as Looks mean and much better than the M4 IMO. My biggest gripe is the weight @ 3800lbs + for the manual vs 3562 lbs for my M2C manual stock which is a lot ( weighs same as an M4 ). Was hoping for a more modest gain of around 100 to 150 lbs at most vs the 250 lb ....
