I think this shows how many people that are not on this forum have vastly different opinions than the ones we see here. This might be because they don't analyze every image the way we do. Heck, a good chunk probably don't even realize that ZB is not metallic, or they think the marketing photos they see that are over saturated are actually accurate. It might be something completely different, no clue, just spit balling. We see certain preferences on these forums, but we don't consider the bubble we live in.


These forums are awesome, entertaining, insightful, and fun, but they definitely are a bubble. We also have very different expectations of bmw than the general public, which might cause some resentments and bias.

Ha good point, and that may be exactly why the G87 launch color is hideous. :P

BMW just might know their market better than we do.

Then again, it's early, time will tell who comes out on top, but I don't mind if I never see another TR G87 on the road again.

I think it's actually debatable what the launch color is since the press material was Toronto Red.

So was #3 on my dealers list in CT. The dealership got an HEA that the #2 guy on the list took leaving me in the 2 slot. #1 just got their allocation so now I am next up. So the question is, do allocations only come at the beginning of the month and I am waiting roughly 4 weeks. I have seen various opinions on this. Thanks...getting real!

The surprising part is that ZB is leading on customizable allocations so far. These guys will have to either take delivery or forfeit their deposit once the cars arrive.

So far the M2 allocations have been pretty random. I'm anxious to see what next week holds. Crossing my fingers to see one at my store.

I have a feeling there will be quite a few for sale once lci brings other colors, or hopefully individual color. I think there are a lot who actually think the press material accurately represents ZB. I've seen it in person and definitely like it, and 100% think anyone else should see it before ordering it. I wouldn't suggest anyone get ZB without seeing the color, unless anyone doing so is not too particular about the color of their car.

Anyway, just can't commit to the blue; it is a manual with carbon roof; missing a few other preferred options. Will consider it once I see it but I'm really feeling at this many $$ I'd much rather have what I want than what I don't earlier.

Ahhh.. yeah, gotcha. I changed by build from ZB to BG. Despite one forum member's continual hype, I agree that many will probably be a little unhappy or deflated once they get their car in ZB.
