This is what i rocked at age 12
Sure wish i still had it. Kept time and kicked robot a$$. But I am jealous at the caliber of our watch connoisseurs' timepieces. In reality I just have a diamond bulova, Coach Movado Chrono, and Bulova Chrono. One day I'll splurge and get a REAL one. |

Depends here. Older rolex watchs had fewer revolutions so less need for special oils and less need for maintenenance The new watches like my sub are 28 800 revs so they need special oil and need more maintenance more often Totally depends on the movement |

on the contrary, due to the weak economy I got a killer deal on my bucherer, it is a buyers market for luxury items like watches

For the gentleman whose Rolex seized, this is very rare and likely due to going 14 years without a service. Rolex movements are amongst the most reliable and accurate movements on the market, They are designed with tough components and loose tolerances to last for a long time. The escapement (the regulating part of the watch) is state of the art and uses only the best components and design. By the way I've never owned a Rolex and probably won't as they are not my style but I do have great respect for what they do and in particular their bulletproof movements. Ask 100 watchmakers their thoughts and 90 will tell you the same. Thanks, Mike. |

Never been much of a watch person. I always lose or scratch them. Sun spectacles, testicles, wallet, phone, and fob are enough for me :-)

You probably mean 'more expensive (automatic) watches'. Automatic watches are not meant to take a lot of abuse (although most of them can). That isn't why people choose to wear them. Expensive, quality quartz watches can take anything that you throw at them plus some. To me, your statement sounds pretty naive.

So thanks for imparting your wisdom of watches on me, I'm sure you're a hit at parties as well as impressive to the ladies when you go on your diatribe about watches. |
