How bad are the winters there? I've driven all manner of 911 and Miatas year round here in DC, even when the weather is sub freezing. They're all great unless there is snow on the ground and you don't have snow tires on. M2 was no different this year. Honestly it may have been more fun in winter when the PS4S have a little less grip.

Looks like the same headlights as the new 2er.

I hope they make the exec package more meaningful. The wireless charging is a pretty minimal thing and the active headlights are next to useless in my experience, they just add weight and complexity.
The lights were worth it for the look over the standard, the WiFi arena for wireless apple CarPlay and heated steering for $1200 it was a fair price in my mind

I would agree. I have the package and it was well worth it. Not happy with the extra $300 for the ACP, but I do use it extensively.

Curious about those fenders and their tacked-on look. Hoping they go with a more elegant solution on the final product. Also seems like we're sticking with the cow udder muffler?

All this reliance on screens and tech to deliver a "value proposition" only means the car has less of a value proposition in 2-3 years and they need to do more work to keep up with this for a mid-cycle refresh. And these systems are never better or easier to use than an iPhone, so what's the point? I just use my phone for everything because it's more responsive and doesn't have the weird quirks that even using apple car play introduces. Just make the car be good and leave the other stuff to phones to handle. BMW really have lost touch with what their core identity is, what a shame.
Been saying this for years. Steering/front end feel after the e92 m3 went to shit and it's not the same! That's my 2 cents. Wish BMW can make the M brand different, simple with emotion instead of this tech bullshit that's drives you and not the other way around.

Because it's not specifically for the M2. The i4 got a similar screen setup, and the regular 2er will be updated to this screen setup in a year or 2 as well.

execution is more important, mercedes started at "hey lets add one huge screen" and tried to make their system UX fit which did not work particularly well. especially when dropping below the s-class, which had gotten almost a bespoke UI to make the large screen work

BMW will still have 2 separate screens, just larger, slightly curved and connected by a trim piece to make them look seamless. The idrive 7/8 system naturally has the ability to consume more real estate and BMW has already digitized the displays throughout the line. Whether aesthetically it is preferred or not vs the more "cockpit" look there are few options to increase the size of the displays and keep the current UI concepts.

I think the current generation is the last of analog cars BMW has made.

Love that cognac will be available for this car.

Also I don't think the linked screens are a bad look. I think BMW will make the finished product look quite good.

Yeah maybe save the wraparound displays for electric cars and give me two analogs, Speedo and tachometer, for a sports car

I can't tell from the pictures if there's a HUD. Anyone know if this is coming to the M2?

Is it just me or do the rear fenders not look any wider than that of the new M240i?

I've been wondering myself how they could top the M240 as far as the rear fenders. I imagine they're just slightly wider that'll only really be visible when they're sitting side by side one another.
