Hi, new to this thread. Just thought I'd share a funny story.

I was on my way to Las Vegas from LA - it was weekday night and no one was on the road. Must have been midnight or so. I'm in my Audi R8 V10 with the top down (It's probably 50 degrees out) and I'm wearing a hoodie tied tight cause it was cold but I was enjoying myself. I pull off the exit to fuel up and the gas station I pull into has 4-5 CHP officers chilling by their cars and chatting/drinking coffee. I nodded and smiled as I went in to get some snacks and take a leak. They look at me like, "Who is this knucklehead?"
I come out the door and the convo goes like this:

CHP: Hey, what car is faster? Yours or a Corvette?
Me: Really depends, which Corvette? Straight line or track times? I race cars at tracks like Willow Springs and Laguna Seca so I'm pretty fast. But I don't drive like that on the highways cause I'm responsible, I respect you guys and I'm a CHP 11-99 member/donator.
CHP: Yeah, well, we are the only cops around for the next 60 miles so go have a good time.

We all smiled at each other and I gave them some wide open throttle V10 as I pulled out and waved goodbye.

Yeah brotha! I upgraded April of 2022 and I’ve never been happier. I do still want a G8X though. lol!

I too got an OG 911 09 and only lasted for 6 months. Now I'm in an M2, thank God they are still coming out in a manual or I was going to move on.

What's your take on the SB2 ruling, I personally think it sucks. I'm just waiting for my CCW permit pickup but SB2 put a damper on it.

SB2 is unenforceable at this time, but I agree it is trash legislation. California becomes more and more of a craphole every passing year.

I have my ccw interview set for March 5th. I'm assuming the new laws are gonna be declared unconstitutional and reversed so I'm gonna get mine now and keep my fingers crossed.

I agree - especially with what's going on in LA now.
I'm also open to open carry. Don't see why we gotta hide that shit.
An armed society is a polite society.

Having said that, I'm not some 2A nut. I still believe in background checks and wait periods and reasonable restrictions.

Well we have had background checks, wait periods, etc. for my entire adult life (…and before that). I just don’t agree with some of the other stuff California wants to implement (…or has implemented).

I did pack my shit and move. lol! I live in Nevada, but I am still a California law enforcement officer.

That’s what my father in law did as well.

He’s lived in San Diego, Santa Monica, Santa Cruz, left SC about 5 yrs ago for Nevada, he’s very happy to be out of Cali as are both of his daughters who now live in FL. His son, my brother in law lives in Temecula, it’s expensive and they work so much - i’m not sure how much they get to enjoy their track home that cost close to $800k (their starter home).

The older I get the more I appreciate slower cities. Glad I left SoCal in 2008, but it took 5 yrs to detox - I was so used to being over stimulated I didn’t know any better

That detox process is real, but surprisingly I acclimated rather quickly. I like the peace of not seeing neighbors, really quiet streets, etc. I find myself becoming anxious toward the end of my work week because I know I’ll get to flee this state.

Well... "shall not be infringed" can only mean one thing and is pretty self-explanatory. All those things you listed are infringements.

Sad news from "On Patrol: Live" on Friday evening. Coweta County, GA Sheriff Deputy Eric Minix, 31, was fatally injured earlier this week when he was struck as he was exiting his 2017 Dodge Charger by a 2017 Ford Explorer patrol vehicle driven by 28-year-old Lanett, Alabama Police Department officer Cornelius Robinson. Deputy Minix was a K9 handler, and one of the officers that the TV show rode along with. The high-speed chase started in Georgia, and crossed into Alabama.....
