This car looks like it is expecting to get hit in the rear corners, really, really hard.

This is unfortunate. I'm not a fan of the G80 design and was hoping that the G87 would be better. It seems the aesthetic trajectory is not what I'm looking for. With no other options in the line-up, I think it might be to time to move on after two decades. No disrespect to those who do like the current gen of cars from BMW. It's just not for me.

Just the way it is now, the rear bumper simply has too much presence and overpowers the rest of the design.
No wonder they need a high-rise M spoiler to offset it and to accentuate that Gundam/Transformer robotics vibe. It in AW kooks much much better and with the right M performance parts it's going to look awesome |

This blue looks like it was an accidental creation. Like paint spilled and when they cleaned it up this was the color created.

This is really sad to me. I like almost all current BMWs (minus the pedestrian 2), and I think this looks horrendous. Maybe it's the angles.

Reviewers will rave at its performance and gawk at its posterior.
Dumbfounded how this crude and unsophisticated design made it pass a rendering, less get corporate and marketing buy-in. Beyond its appearance, they went cheap on everything from the repurposing of 240i's headlights, rear lights, hood and trunk to the lack of badging, removal of faux side vents, etc. A lack of finesse everywhere, in the most mundane things like the parking sensors that look like an afterthought to odd proportion of front and rear bumper to a poorly executed transition between the rear quarter panel and running board. Then they choose the most unflattering color to reveal it. Almost seems like BMW didn't give a chit about this car.

Yep. Uninspiring.
I don't like it at all. Maybe the color, maybe not. Previous M2 CS was a much better looking car.

Lol someone beet me to it !
But yes I hear bad colors or it's shot at a bad angle to try and justify this creation. The truth is if it was a beautifully designed car the angles and color don't matter, It Would look hot at any angle. This is a giant letdown and they need some new people at the helm. Proportion can only help You so much, what a shame. |
