Sorry to say but this is really hideous in my opinion. Did bmw change their head of design recently?

There are too many solid surface areas without anything to break them up.

Also odd that the side vents (even if fake) are missing.

I'd still rock one nonetheless

I just don't understand how they can make this and think it's good. I think Mercedes is paying the designers to make the worst looking cars

The car is so rectangular, so squared, it's like the finishing touch on shape has stil to be made.

A sculpture not done yet.

It looks unfinished all the way, whatever angle I look at it.

I've had the same thought... The straight lines, the boxiness, R34 came to mind too. Missing that BMW look of previous gens. I mean I like the M240i look to consider one. Just not the same BMW use to.

M3/4 is amazing, just stick to it.. last and imo the best M design ever. The grille was a hit! People who still hate the nose should get this hideous m2…

I dunno....I think lots of people here are jumping the gun with the criticisms. It looks like the wrapped version is much more refined and closer to what the final product will be. Personally I'm most excited about the driving feel much more than the aesthetics.

Comparison with the R34 is an insult to the Nissan. This “thing “ looks like a Pontiac Fiero homemade body kit.

I was thinking the same. I've read 100's of comments across the internet and it's like 99% bad reaction. Odd that a new front page thread pops up today on the same leak and now it's kinder and gentler. Something ain't right…
