What is so great about that? I have no issue turning my high beam manually on/off w/o problem. No offence meant, just curious. To me, this is definitely not worth $650 USD. The enhanced DRL might if the even w/o adaptive and auto high features (even better to keep lower tech).

Again, minor benefit and mostly resale value of having the flashier headlights. Lame pun intended.

Edit: additionally, easy to say if you're spending 65k+ on a car then $650 shouldn't be a huge deal.

For me, there's no bad spec for the car. It's still a great car. Hell I even compromised and got the HEA with Piano Black trim. Granted it can be changed easily with M Parts but still, the car rocks regardless.

I get it, sort of. Significant difference between $650 USD and $3,100 CAD. Honestly, I want this car for the mechanical platform in a NEW vehicle with the newest ICE, transmission and a warranty. I would be happy with analogue everything, crank windows, no radio and no AC. I am most likely a minority here.

Going a bit off topic but more tech can be a issue. Look at the safety issues w/ electronic e-brake. In some vehicle, if you have catastrophic electric power failure, you might not be able to engage the electronic e-brake. You might have to remain in the car if on a hill to keep pressing the brake pedal.

This is worth it for me. I'm near Nashville but in the suburbs which get a lot of country roads that just don't have street lights. It's annoying having to keep switching them off and on or risk people high beaming you

I work at Carmax part time. 90% of newer cars of all brands have electronic parking brakes.

Those are some really uncommon edge cases.
Engine is dead in parking lot? Where are you going if you can't start the engine lol. Besides you only need enough to be in koeo to do it.

On a hill and engine dies? Your manual ebrake probably won't hold it depending on how steep the hill is. If it's not steep roll down. Also if the engine is dead you have to hold them brakes because once you let off you're rolling and you're not getting brakes back without engine vacuum..

All these "issues" are the same as anything electrical. But to your point if it was a track only car the option to have less electronics would be nice

I already own a black G42 Xdrive so I went for a Brooklyn Grey G87. Daily city driver so auto and M Sport seats. Cars here come fully specd carbon roof, interior, etc. I got to choose red calipers though! Build April.

Alpine white, for me is the most classic M colour, even before I saw the other colours, it was always going to be AW.
Carbon seats were a must to make this the ultimate spec.
Carbon roof standard and it's always perfect with AW.
Red calipers - for me, look best with white.
6-speed manual was also a must for this car.
Black wheels - again for me, is the better look with white cars with a black roof.
In Australia, I believe we may get black mirrors and black boot lid spoiler according to my documents.

Nice spec.It will be interesting to see if that actually happens for you guys because there haven’t been any pics of a G87 with black mirrors and black boot lid spoiler. It should have been an option for all markets IMO.

I agree, we saw one picture of a ZB M2 parked on the side of the road with a black boot spolier in another thread. Perhaps in Mexico...

  • Alpine White - I kind of regret not getting the X3 in AW and its the only color I know I won't regret given our options
  • Black Wheels - I dont care, replacing them will be my first mod
  • Black with Contrast stitching - I like Congac but it looks cheap not having more coverage on the doors and dash. This interior was meant to be black whether I like it or not!
  • Carbon Fiber trim - Aluminum is pretty nice too (have it now), but gotta go carbon for the wheel and to match the roof
  • Shadow Line Package - I'm not sure I'll like the non-shadowline headlights so this is the safe play
  • Lighting Package - As for the debate on its worth, I personally love the adaptive ability on my X3 but the auto high beams dont always turn off properly so you still have to pay attention to them. I am sad they arent angel eyes but I still like the visual upgrade (The X3 Icon headlights on my current ride are my all time favorite design)
  • Red Calipers - I like the contrast and I have blue ones now
  • Manual transmission - The main reason I'm buying an M2 and not an M240i... and BMW knows it!
  • Heated Steering Wheel - Im soft
  • M Carbon Roof - I want it
  • Head-up Display - one of the best QoL features in my opinion

Update for mine
  • TR for me is the least common color in terms of enthusiasts and regular traffic.
  • Bi-colored wheels. Breaks up all the black on the car.
  • Carbon Package. I want the carbon buckets for the cool factor lol. But plan on getting all the other carbon options anyway. Carbon roof for weight savings and looks.
  • Lighting Package. Auto high beams are great for the unlit back roads in the suburbs of Nashville.
  • Shadowline Package
  • M Compound Brakes with Blue Calipers. I think the red clashes with the TR
  • Auto transmission. Changed from manual because for a while it will be my daily driver and I do plan on doing long trips to meets and visit family. I like manual but at the end of the day the features and power potential and possible issues with clutches limiting power push me to the auto.
  • Heated Steering Wheel
  • Parking Assistant
  • Remote start. Can't beat heating or cooling the car before I get in. I hate driving with a coat or jacket so this is a must if I have auto trans.
  • Adaptive cruise control. I don't use my normal cruise control now but I think with the adaptive part I may just use it. I do go on long trips so this would be great not having to slow down and speed up to match traffic. Also will help with daily commute traffic.
  • Live Cockpit Pro with Head-up Display
