At over 3800lbs, it’s the weight that kills if for me for a car this size. A camaro, which I consider to be a large car, weighs a few hundred lbs less with a V8. Might as well get the M4 unless the front end bothers you that much…..

It looks good in red. Not so much in the voldemort blue, or whatever they’re calling that color. Very bad initial launch color choice. It works on the Hyundai Elantra N. Not so much here in my opinion.

However, unless you have some unlimited budget for your guilty pleasure automobile, where else you going to find a RWD + manual + 400hp + revised stability and e-diff (DSCi) for 62k. This is still a good package for what you are getting and I'm not swaying on the looks but I could look at it with a practical and objective lens.
Welp off the top of my head, there's the Mustang, camaro, CT4 BW and Supra. And they all start at a cheaper price.
They may be cheaper but you are not getting an equivalent drivetrain or BMW M engineering.. There is also some distinct technical changes in this vehicle. For one, it's now using the electric rear brakes programming to modulate and stabilize power, which responds quicker and more efficiently than the previous fluid-pumping setup.

Even the Supra has a BMW drivetrain but the M cars comes with a better e-diff and aluminum suspension components over cast iron.

BMW might be slipping in the appearance department but they can still make a dynamic, evolutionary performing vehicle.

When I saw how the F87 was so surprisingly appealing to the young at heart crowd, I was expecting BMW to try to capitalize on this market and turn it up a notch in flair.

So it is what is, it's available to appeal to a niche demographic who see it's worth and life goes on because there is other automobiles out there for those who are not interested.

ZB is not a very flattering colour choice for this chassis, it doesn't do justice in showing off the body lines and fender flares. In terms of exterior design I'm digging it! Glad BMW pushed the boundaries with this design, it definitely looks aggressive and muscular. It's the kind of design that's ahead of its time and will age well. Only disappointing part is the standard colour choices. Would have looked good in Dravit Grey and Tanz Blue IMO.

It's very true, as with the M3/4 there are no other options if you want a real sports coupe with 4 seats, a real petrol engine (not a 4pot or electric crap), and great engineering.
Audi has never been up to the task, MB abandoned the field by switching to a shitty hybrid system, American muscle cars can't compare to M's engineering (I don't even know if and which ones are imported to Europe, but I really don't care), Porsches do a different job and have 2 seats.
So basically, you can only buy an M2/3/4 (depending on your taste in size), or nothing

It's a decent package for 62k. I could take it or leave the JDM styling but I see a dark color concealing any of my grievances.

It's not charity, they are not giving you this car, you're still paying 60+ large for the privilege but relative to what else is on the market and factoring in the almost exclusive manual option, it's about as good as it's going to get.

Well, unfortunately as already stated in Europe we are in the 90/100k area, I got my M2C for 58k in 2019 and I can't justify this increase

Damn, that sucks, I wish I could understand the mechanics behind such a drastic jump in price when in the US, the G87 is still more or less matching the old Competition's MSRP.

Kudos to BMW for somehow keeping the price in a similar bracket as it's predecessor. Apple kept their new phone prices the same this year also from the older technology, when everyone online was expecting to get bent over dry because of inflation increase elsewhere but they didn't. It's the principle to me over the dollar amount that allow me give credit when it's due.

Damn, it's only 70kg lighter than my base G80.

At least it looks better than in the leaked photos, though the rear end still looks botched.

The Tesla-like screens on the inside just don't look right in a car like the M2.

Here's hoping that the G87 Competition will improve on the exterior design and retain the manual transmission.

It's the black'd out front splitter that seems wrong- had they extended the color of blue it might look better…

Did you have your G80 weighted on a scale ? Just curious

Undecided on the color, and I love brights with blue hues like my Turbo Blue TTRS.

I bet it would look lovely though with an Xpel Stealth wrap.

I actually like the Blue, but I'm a blue BMW fan. I always liked the Estoril E36 and the Laguna Seca E46.

I had an Estoril F30, Tanzanite F80, and now Misano F87.

I need to see it in person, but I wouldn't rule out the G87 in in ZB.

Just go inside the M section , choose the 2er config and there I was able to switch to the M2 by changing the engine.

No, according to the official documentation on the M3 and M4, it weighs 1780.

These specs are all over the place, I saw Apex at the ring had a base M3 weighted at 3770lbs (1710kg) about a year ago.

I will have to weight my cars when I receive them. Didn't bother to weight the G83 M4 as it was just so damn heavy even if it didn't feel too much like it. These cars a quite amazing actually.

I think I'm ok with it in BG with non black rims. I'm not loving the interior or massive weight increase though.

Changing the wheels to bi-color wheels changes everything, at least for me.
