This makes me glad I optioned the cf package, hoping the wheels I go with are slightly lighter.

There was more gas than I realized. I also had some personal stuff in the car I found and yada yada yada. I thought with wheels I'd be at 3725-3730. Not a huge difference.

Let me tell you folks, you won't feel it or care when you drive it.

I did a 4th gear pull from 36 and it hauled ass. I have no idea what happened to TH.

Yes my OEM wheels are not the lightest. You can easily get another 20lbs with Apex.

BMW Canada listed the weight as 1725kg (3802lb) with steel roof (no sunroof), manual transmission and standard seats, so it looks like it is coming in slightly less than that.

Also interesting that car without driver in it is 49.8% front / 50.2% rear weight distribution. EDIT, it is actually 52.7% front, 47.3% rear, I read the display in post 64 too quickly and transposed the weights.

That's a great question, because Pirelli makes a P ZERO manufactured to BMW* OEM spec, it is probably a very decent tire.

Yep curb weight in US is 3814 with manual, not auto. Subtract 48lbs for carbon roof from sunroof and you get the 1710kg that the M personnel stated at launch.

My car is right in there. I'm just really curious about the weighting on front to rear - off by almost 3%.

Left to right is damn near 50/50.

Where did you see that weight split? I thought it was the other way around.

Today on car wow they had an all M3 line up drag race and the weight of the V8 wasn’t far off what we are looking at with the M2. I’m not too concerned about the weight and I think it’s just been put out there by the journalists.

My car is right in there. I'm just really curious about the weighting on front left vs rear left - dramatically different.

Balance front to rear is damn near 50:50
The front to rear weight will be accurate, but unless they used the scales on a very level floor, you can get considerable diagonal variations. Also it the suspension has some tension in it you can get a similar effect. I wouldn't take the side to side readings as very accurate without taking those effects into account.

No it's not it even says it on the BMW website specs.

We really need to find out what's up with that left front weight.

If you are still able to weigh the car, put a 2x8 or similar under the left rear wheel, you will probably see the front left and front right weights swap. Without the suspension being broken in, floor level checked and anti-friction / alignment plates put under the wheels on one side of the car, I wouldn't trust the side-to-side measurements as indicating an issue.

Hold on, so let me get this straight.

Manual, sport seats, carbon roof BONE STOCK weighs 3762lbs on 90% tank of gas? If this is correct, getting this car to 3650lbs is very doable. Happy with this!

Ok I see what happened now, you used the #'s from zero's photo and added up the front corners vs the rear corners. I just looked at the total on that photo.

I was thinking the same about the left front, for one side to weigh so much more than the other is almost more concerning than the front/back imbalance. This might be due to a balance issue that someone mentioned though.

The side-to-side weights are very close, though (49.8% left, 50.2% right), so it is the diagonal weights that are out (LF-RR at 53.5%, RF-LR at 46.5%), which indicates corner jacking from LF to RR, but a settled, broken in and properly levelled suspension is needed to take that diagonal measurement accurately, as is done when a car is corner weighted.

I should caveat the weighing exercise, the car was full up with tools, my personal stuff, water bottles, and factory kit. It's probably 3730 without the garbage from the dealer and my stuff. (I didn't think to remove it all bc it's how I drove off)
