I guess I gotta get in line for the Competition or CS model. Maybe I'll be able to grab the LCI variant if I put in my name now 👍🤣 I think the LCI will be either MY 26 or 27.

It's not gonna be that long of a wait. By year 3 anyone who wants one is gonna have one.

Agreed... Pity many will just sit in the garage though.
F that!! I get a car like that or any Porsche or BMW better believe it will be driven.

You are right though a lot of them will be like 3 to 4 years old with 2k on the odometer. More washes than miles for sure.
I'm as passionate about cars being driven as I think you are, but supposing that 95%+ of GT3 RS miles were on the track, how many miles would it really have after a few years?

I don't track my car yet so I truly don't know how many miles are typically done on a track day. And so supposing you went as frequently as 24 times a year …. I'm guessing mileage wouldn't be too high?

🤷*♂️

Agreed with your main point though. Buy it to drive it.

Point well taken. I guess I was talking about sports car in general. There are a lot of garage queens out there that are begging to be able to stretch out their legs but can't. They are washed, driven every other weekend, washed, and parked.

I knowwwww. I fear that a significant percentage of M2 CS fall in that bucket 😭

When it's been a while since I take my car on a fun drive I start to feel bad for it. And next time I do, I like to imagine it's so happy inside.

If you wash your car before it has any bug guts on the bumper then you're not driving it enough.

Or maybe I don't wash it enough.

Haha

Oh CS...come to butthead.

The blue on the CS with the gold wheels. PPF, ceramic coat, and then just drive! It looks like a regular M2C but something about it (maybe the wheels)...god damn!

You can thank Obsessed Garage and his cult following for that. Dude is borderline obese and still takes better care of his car than himself.
OCD can do anything to anyone!! Haha 👍

Don't get greedy BMW please!
Won't be easy for the first 2-3 years. Even the base f87 was a pain to get the first year and that was before all the shortages
I'll simply wait for the LCI again so that's very easy to accomplish

Damn...there are so many blues that BMW makes that I like. Many of them look similar. That blue look beautiful.

I'm getting the CF roof, unless it's crazy expensive. I still plan on lowering the car, not just for looks, but I like sitting as low as I can. As a bonus, lowering the car lowers its entire center of gravity, not just the roof.
it.[/QUOTE]

Lowering the car about an inch or less is somewhat ok, in terms of geometry.

Beyond an inch you will need a Roll Center Correction kit, because:
yes, you are lowering the cars CoG, but you are now messing with the holy grail of suspension geometry. Increasing the OEM distance between the Roll Centre and the CoG increases the Roll Moment. In layman's terms the car now wants to lean more, even though it's lowered!

I recently had the radiator blinds replaced on my Z4 because of damage. The two kidney cut outs in the new M2 look very similar to the top radiator blinds on the Z4.

The blinds ever look similarly shaped. Just an observation, curious if any parts are shared there.

I envy those who can get them at MSRP. I would have already placed a deposit if I could do that as well. Your neighbor is one lucky SOB
