Thankful to have you guys...keeps me excited for upcoming releases.

The renders are usually pretty darn close, if not spot on, to what we actually get at production. It's great.

Every BMW except the M Roadster/M Coupe has the kink (...including the G8X). You'll likely get your wish.

How are you not seeing the kink on the new 4? You might need new eyes my friend.

The kink is still there on the 2GC too. Keep in mind that the kink is not only a BMW design element. Plenty of cars have it. GM was the first to use it in the late 40's. BMW didn't adopt it until the 60's.

If you guys are referring to the traditional Hofmeister kink, that's not it.

The kink has varied among all of BMW's cars. The kink of the 3200 CS doesn't look like the kink on the E36. The kink of the E46 doesn't look like that of the E9X. We could post photos of every BMW made and most, if not all, of the kinks vary in design.

Lots of different kinks, so I'm not sure what you mean by "traditional".

People hold on to old stuff so much Let design progress and the old cars will always still be around to buy, if you want to.

Why the hood line?! WHYYYYYYYYYYY?!

How can’t they ignore that a hood line ruins it all?

Yes they all vary shapes but from a design perspective, the BMW kink has remained the same.

The apex of the curve is always further away from the end of the curve.

That's what ppl are referring to when they claim the new design no longer utilizes the hofmeister kink.

Hopefully they don't screw up the next M2. It will be the last drvier's car from BMW for sure. The G82 is way too big. 3 seconds in an M340i confirms this...

Pretty lazy rendering!

From what i have seen though I like this generation 2-series WAY more than the F2X/F8X though. I never liked the last gen car—-too blah.

Has way more character even in limited spy shots.

Exactly. I think the one thing traditional that remains about BMW. Is it handles very well, nearly 50/50 balance. They are cheaper than a 911, can keep up with a GT3 RS after about 15000 worth of track mods.
Are not terribly expensive.

New grill - may look good from a different angle. I am for one now really enjoy the new 1 series grill more than the outgoing gen.

Also M2 is not a real M car it is simply not.
