For whatever reason I'm sensitive to everyone describing powerful vehicles as a "beast." There are other adjectives people!

I didn’t listen to the Carlin video, but expect most people would rather keep their benefits, collect unemployment and have a chance at going back to work (furlough) than being let go with unemployment but benefits cut off (Lay-off).

Irregardless. It's not a freaking word. The prefix, "ir" and the suffix, "less" cancel each other out.
Any use is too much!!

To me, a leave of absence is something people usually choose to take and, as far as I know, you can’t collect unemployment during a leave of absence. Maybe I’m wrong about that. I also know companies may have programs that pay people for leaves of absences.
A furlough, as is being used these days and when the government shuts down, is forced on people who want to work. I suppose some employers may refer to unpaid leaves, whether voluntary or not, as furloughs. But there is a big difference between voluntary / requested vs. mandatory / forced.

Don't tell the girlfriend (she'll find out once she reads this ) but her "anyways" rather than anyway is going to create a conversation between us. She knows me well enough to know that when something annoys me, I'll tell the other person. I've been extra patient with her.
I wear the asshole badge proudly as I'm not afraid to say anything to anyone. I told one our employees last week, that he could not ride in my Lexus because he stinks of B.O. and I didn't want my car smelling like him. Beat me to it. My stepdaughter used this so much that we had to try and break her from it. Once I had enough, anytime that she said it I will follow with, "Is it really LIKE that or is it in fact the very thing?" She got so tired of hearing me say that in response, she stopped saying it. Hate this one! Also hate irregardless. Quote:
Guilty of this one. Expecially () if someone catches me off-guard and asks a question in a group of people. I have to work on this. I have nightmares about "actually." My office....co-habitant uses it so much you can hear other people sigh from other offices every time she speaks. She seriously starts every single sentence with it. Getting sick of this one too. It's in almost every email that I get from our vendors and from our corporate office. |

Speechless
I say this because nearly each time someone says they are “speechless” it is followed by a lot of words to then describe what couldn’t possibly just seconds prior. An overused stall word like “awesome?” |

"I Believe"
This gets me: Politicians who say, "I believe..." when they should say, "I think...", probably because they don't think. Murf Last edited by Littlebear; 04-20-2020 at 06:49 AM.. |
