Circa 1979, Met my wife, she lived in my neighborhood, same High school, didn't know her at the time. Would flirt with her when she drove past the house though. She was 18, I was 23 when we met.

She happened to be driving past the house as myself and a couple of buddies are pulling out of the driveway. One of the guys I'm with had long hair down to the middle of his back. She decided to follow me to a bar to see who the "girl" is that I'm with. She walked in and we made her sit down with us. After a few drinks, asked her out that night, dated 3 or 4 months before getting engaged. Married a year later. Today married going on 42 years, 3 children, and one grandchild.

Not to many miles, she grew up in my neighborhood and there was only a couple of ways in and out. My parents home was on an intersection that had most of the traffic going through. I think curiosity got the best of her seeing how I would flirt with her when she went by. on

Met my wife the day I turned 18 on the first day of class. She just turned 17. We talked but never seriously. She was the honor society type, i was barely passing HS. I joined the Army and for some reason she was surprised and emailed me, still without a romantic tone. When I'd come home, we would hang out and eventually it got serious. We went to the court house and got married a couple hours after I got off the plane while I was on leave from Iraq in 2004.

It has really had its ups and downs, mostly because I am as f*cked up as a football bat. But she is still here and we make it work, and its beautiful when its working well! I keep trying because she is so worth it and I just hope that for some reason she thinks the same.

Sounds like you got a good thing going, and she must think so too, that's why she's still hanging in there with you.

I've been married to my girl since 1975 and sometimes I've wondered why she sticks with me as well. It hasn't always been easy but it's not supposed to be.

It's definitely worth it though...

Been with my wife since she was in 10th grade (I was in 12th, robbing the cradle at age 17). Her family lived a mile down the road. Actually, still recall when she got her drivers license.

We've been together for 30+ years, and celebrated out 25th wedding anniversary a couple weeks ago.
