Yeah, because Tesla is such a cluster that their processes aren't even consistent from location to location.

You know I just learnt that from a Tesla owning friend last week. He just sold his US built model and bought a Chinese model as they are known to be much better quality. Fascinating.

Just had a chance to read this entire thread and can't help but notice that it started off as a G87 discussion which quickly turned into a where it's built thread. I find it fascinating that instead of talking about the M2's successor this is what people are focusing on. Can't help but think if nobody knew it was being built in Mexico would anyone even know.
G87 will have a detuned S58 with 455hp and yes, an M2c is in the works. BMW has said they have no plans to offer xDrive on the M2. That said, they've been known to change their minds, but even if they do it'll be a few years before you see one. The official reveal is this October for the base M2, production starts end of December and it'll hit showrooms in April. M2c is a ways off, but rest assured it's coming. Regarding options, it'll basically get everything the G80/2 have with exception of CCB. Unlike the G80/2 CF roof will be an option due to cost, but adaptive dampers will be standard. |

Hmmm, how likely do you think it is that BMW will offer TWO type of interior CF? I'm going to say...they wont

The interior CF dash trim looks exposed (open pore), though not all the parts are. The seat backs are still lacquered. The F87 came with dry exposed carbon and the F87 CS brought in lacquered CF as per the M3/M4. Wouldn't rule it out for G87 TBH. |

Great if you fancy splashing out more for some Matt CF. My thought was more around the stock CF M8 shiny CF M5 shiny CF M3/4/Convertible Shiny CF Maybe they will go Matt for a change on the M2. I had this o. My OG and quite liked it.

I quite liked it but still prefer the gloss finish. |
