Saw one recently that was "bgr8tr" and my daughter thought I was a dingus for refusing to translate it as "be greater" and kept saying "booger eater" instead.

I'm really trying to think of something Lego related after reading so many comments complaining that the car looks like a Lego.

I ALWAYS get custom tags. For my current BMW, I ordered only two packages to keep the content/weight down (price too!).

So, my plate is based on a standard Virginia plate format that uses XXX-XXX format. My plate is: ZMP ZDH

These are the order sheet codes for M Sport Package and the Dynamic Handling Package.

Okay . . . but why? Except for the BMW Product Manager, no one else will know what it means. I guess every time you approach the car you'll chuckle to yourself and go . . . "yup, I selected those two options?"

I saw a personalized tag the other day that had me laughing for several minutes. It was somewhat BMW related, but not model specific and most BMW enthusiast that been around the marque for a while should know exactly what it is referencing. I do not want to disclose what it is because it is currently available in my state.

Yeah, I might chuckle a little from time to time...I love this car and, in part, it's because of how I ordered it. Besides, who says the rule on personal plates is others gotta get it?

When BMW came out with the V8 in the M3 I was working for a SCCA GT team. We were racing Ford Mustangs. I remember being in the trailer at the shop one time loading up. It seemed like everyone who worked for the team had a mustang. The owners son(who was leading the points at the time and won the championship) pulls in the parking lot and does some donuts and burnouts. I said "He has a mustang too! I ordered my tag earlier. I was somewhat surprised it was still available as it tends to be fairly popular. Fortunately our DMV will hold personalized tags for one calendar year. The way allocations are current dropping it may take that long, even with me holding the #1 spot.

It is unoriginal. It still has to be approved by the state, but I do not foresee that being an issue. I have not even received a confirmation email from the state given that I applied on a weekend. Therefore I would rather not.

FYI, my last online personalized tag application approximately six months ago was declined and rather quickly. I reapplied a few days later and provided a better explanation the second time around. It was authorized then.

Ahhh, didn't realize it wasn't approved yet. The difference in process in each state varies too much. My wife goes into her portal, puts in a new personalized tags and prints out a paper version in 10 min, and then the plate is in the mail a few days later.
