Wrong, if you know anything about how cameras work you can tell that the TR pic is completely overexposed. It doesn't look nearly that washed in person on a sunny day.

It's so weird that there's a small handful of people here that dislike TR almost to the point it's personal as they just have to inject into every thread how bad it looks in some lighting. I owned a TR X3MC and got plenty of comments and there was not a day where I regretted it or didn't like it as it's a fantastic red. I can understand why some may not like it because it shifts a bit to orange in some lighting but I just don't understand how some go on about the color like a TR BMW ran over their dog or something.

I wouldn't do it for myself, but it's a really cool. After the m2 I might get rid of the m40i and get the x3m, hopefully in individually color. |

In truth, everyone's opinion is right.....for them! and we should try and respect that. I am also on the fence about TR having recently seen it on an M4 despite initially ordering the M2 in that colour. It may look great on the M2 and the recent transporter photo suggests that however I have delayed my order until I can see the colours in the flesh and choose accordingly. I cannot not disagree. It is certainly not like it used to be. The dynamics behind it are fairly self-explanatory as not many individuals are cut out for luxury automotive sales nor have the ability to be successful at it. The lack of training via their employing BMW Center also plays a huge factor, but the client advisor door is a revolving one making many centers feel the need to not invest the time nor money into their sales staff.

Well, they would be right to complain. Because if it was called Toronto Orange, personally I don't looks anywhere close to Orange and looks too red.
The truth is, the color is a Red Orange or Orange Red and should be called something closer to that. What I would be complaining is why call it Toronto?? Is it more Orangey in Toronto?? They should have called it Florida Red or California Red because they are known for their Oranges?? https://picsart.com/blog/post/red-orange-color Last edited by donm527; 02-03-2023 at 11:13 PM.. |

There's nothing wrong with TR. Some people like that lighter red and that shift in different lighting. People are just saying it's not a deep pure red. It is a light red.
Light to dark... Toronto Red, Melbourne Red, Imola Red... lot of people seem to love Imola Red. I find Imola a little too dark for my taste. I prefer Melbourne Red of the three. Quote:

Only reason I committed to my car is due to my spot in the allocation line vs the other dealers in the area. Guess it makes sense why folks are waiting a year rather than a shorter allocation at a nearby dealer lol. I’m just glad my knowledge and assertion got me a better interest rate and answered my questions. Much of it is due to these threads. |

not going to lie I think it’s sad to see an M car being made outside of Germany.
I do realize other SUV M cars have been made outside Germany (in SC) but I don’t really count those glorified utility boxes!

You are forgetting that the first M cars produced outside of Germany were the E36/7 M Roadster and the E36/8 M Coupe. The E85 M Roadster and E86 M Coupe followed. All four were manufactured for the world at BMW Plant Spartanburg. |

But with German VIN numbers. The G87 has a Mexican VIN.Probably because not enough of the parts are made in Germany.
