That F87 looks so sick, like a GT3RS.

When it comes to comparing the G87 and F87 asthetically, sure the later is more photogenic. However, I think anyone who sees the two side to side would find it very difficult not to immediately gravitate towards the newer car - it is truly special.

While attractive, the original M2 has a rear end that could also belong to an economy car. Also, that interior was pretty plasticy and horrid. The G87 looks every bit of a $60k plus car.

Also a word of advice for anyone overly eager to tick the shadowline option box...

BMW San Diego’s ZB HEA car did not have it, and the chrome exhaust tips make the rear end look super aggressive. The exhaust openings are huge and I feel like having them blacked out would make them look smaller. Rear taillights already have plenty of dark elements (personally, I wouldn’t want them any darker) and finally being able to see into the headlights without them being darkened added to the visual presence of the front end.

In pictures, yes. Now get off your phone and find a HEA car to look at yourself

I wish shadowline was configurable to allow you to choose the black exhaust tips and the headlights separately because I’m eventually changing out the exhaust anyway to titanium and will be going with the burnt Ti tips. I only wanted shadowline for the headlights.

I'm happy that you guys are happy about the new purchase... but let's not get out of hand here. This is not a good looking car, from most angles. The interior is amazing... that's about it.

I read half of this and the loss of credibility is astounding.

Have you seen one in person?I agree it doesn’t look as good as the F87 but it isn’t a complete disaster. For me the biggest disappointment is the front of the car.The front opening in the bumper still looks a little odd to me.That is why i am waiting for the LCI in the hope that they will clean up the look of that front bumper.

I still wish that they had gone with the look of the 2002 Hommage Turbomeister front end.The kidney grille design is very similar to the one on the G42 so they could have probably made the design work for the G87.

Before seeing it in person, I thought the F87 looked odd with those fangs. Only looked great once I saw it and the whole stance of it in person.

I’m quite pleased with the G87 after seeing it in person. Once again, the front and the entire stance looks far better in person.

There’s no way that an S58 coupe with 6MT option starting at $63k is going to flop. I think the forum and social media detractors understand this, which is why they’re so loud and repetitive about their opinions.

We have people who claim to have cancelled orders months ago still here telling us why that was a good move. Seems like a poor use of time.

I have yet to see the new m2 in person but as a og m2 owner, i got to say in pictures alone the front of the f87 looks better, the angel eyes, the fangs is just a very attractive and aggressive fromt bumper, i really hate how the new 2er doesn’t have the angel eyes. But hands down the side profile, the new g87 wins with its super thicccc wheel arches.

If I didn’t know any better I’d say the f87 was the new model. I know it’s a modded f87 and I don’t want to crap on anyone’s g87 parade but they don’t even look like they’re the same manufacturer if you take the emblems off

Man I wish I didn’t ruin my m2 cs - anyways I’m sure with mods the g87 will grow on us like the g80 has

Have you seen it in the flesh? The rear end was the part of the car I wasn’t completely sold on until able to see all the detailing up close and personal. It’s really quite attractive. Sure iND will do great things to enhance it further.

Make paint matched front lips to close off the center grill on the bottom. I think that will transform the way it looks.

I hate to contribute to the off topic in this thread but I can’t resist.

I get it that some of you guys think the F87 was the perfect car. It’s the apple of your eye. *your* eye. I never liked the F87. Never would have considered buying one, I strongly dislike the way they look. But get this; I have yet to find myself in the F87 forum to comment BS every time someone posts pics.

I don’t love every line on the G87 but let’s stop pretending it had some endlessly large shoes to fill just because F87 owners are a super proud group.

Why linger in a forum dedicated to a car you dislike so much, just to be negative? Because you’re holding onto a subjective angle in a struggle to resist your pride and joy falling out of relevence in every measurable way. Grow up, it happens to nearly every car.
