So , I was initially missing the clips as well. I let my dealer know and they installed them free of charge. A few days ago as I was washing my car , I noticed one of the clips was missing again. I let them my SA know when I brought it in for Break - In and they are replacing it again free of charge. I think if it falls off again , im just gonna remove the other one. It seems pretty dangerous if it falls off while youre driving, who knows what it can hit and damage.

I'll have to reach back out to my CA. When I took delivery in Oct they were gonna look into getting them after showing part number and diagram but just realized never heard back about them.

My problem is I’m 2 hours from the dealer where I picked it up. Looks like I might just have to bite the bullet and buy them if the local dealer won’t provide them.

Took delivery yesterday with no clips. Requested the clips and provided the part number then they wrote a “to do” list into the contract.

After ordering them for me, my CA reached back out and said that they asked the head of BMW M (since none of their M2s or sister dealerships were being delivered with them) and were told that they were no longer putting these on M2s as of July of this year. Apparently still standard equipment on other M models.
I find it odd, but seems to track with what people on this forum are seeing. Also odd that no dealers seem to know or were told this. |

I took delivery last month, no clips. Finally picked up the clips today and noticed they simply slip on by friction. It does not seem the "pin" falls into the hole on the caliper. It definitely feels like it'll slip off during driving. Any suggestions or tips on how to bend the "pin" in order for it to fall into the hole?
Thanks, FS |

I just picked up my car yesterday and I am also missing the clips on both sides. Mine is a 10/10 build. Just reached out to my CA and will ask about them from the service center tomorrow when I get my winter tires put on.

Noticed I was missing these as well. My wife's X3MC has them & at 20k miles they haven't fallen off. Will ask the dealer about them when I bring it in for the 1,200 mi service

Our M3 CS came in without the clips, so this isn't just a problem with our "cheap" M2s.

I don't think this is a "problem" as such, I think it is a conscious decision by a bean-counter somewhere to remove a part that has nothing other than a cosmetic function and is not easily noticed by anyone other than the owner, to save a couple of Euros per car.

What's worse is the M cars get a nice-looking caliper up front & the same crappy base rear caliper they can't even sand it smooth before painting.

They supposedly keep the same rear caliper so they can keep the same parking brake setup. BMW has also stated that they can achieve sufficient braking with the stock type rear caliper, and it costs less. I just think it looks cheap.

MY24 G87’s don’t have this in the US. I suspect there was a cutoff of MY23’s as well at a certain production date. I’ve heard it increases brake cooling which is why it was removed.
It’s the same brakes, no worries it’s only cosmetic. |
