Some of these responses are a bit over-the-top in calling out youngsters who are fortunate enough to have their parents buy them nice things. I don't really care myself, as a lot of these kids will never get off the teet, which I will never be envious of.... What bothers me, though, is when they try to pass the accomplishment off as their own.... If your parents bought you the car, that's cool; just don't try to act like you did something more deserving that the poor kid who excels yet can not have such nice things because his/her parents aren't well off. Quote:
I agree with that. Lots of pot-meet-kettle statements in here; lots of judgements passed from behind computer screens. I'm assuming that last sentence wasn't directed at me, right? All I was saying is that you can't say "I am responisble based on the fact that I did 5 years in the Corps." It just isn't a true statement. Wasn't trying to start shit or fan any flames. |

I find it nice that you served, thanks for that. But now that you are in college (probably paid for by government) and getting a decent check as well after 5 years most likely. Why do you still live outside your means? Why live in a luxury apartment in such an expensive city if you cannot afford it on your own? I understand you may want to, but since you do have a job and get paid decently you should really be more responsible than that. I am sorry, but I am not one that thinks just because you served you are better or entitled to better. I agree it is risky serving and everything but you ARE getting paid well for it. I still say thanks though as a lot of my friends serve and I know how crappy it can be.

Raging Clue,
That last line was directed at the "responsible adults" who started bashing the younger guys. Quote:
20 something, meaning in my 20s, genius. 24 years, 7 months, 27 days, 9 hours, 22 minutes and 54 seconds if you really need an exact number. Never did I state that I am better or entitled to better because I served. Nor did I even imply it. I do not live outside my means, where did you get that from? You mean, the part where I stated that I need help financially from my parents from time to time? Yeah, I do, from time to time; like when I receive one of my payments late, my parents will front me the money if I ask for it, and the second I receive that payment, I pay them back in full. I am living well within my means, sir. And, you are right. I am getting paid well for my service to this great nation, I earned it. Don't go preaching responsibility to me, you'll just be burning precious calories that you could probably use to get through the rest of your wonderful day. For the umpteenth time, my defense of these younger guys my age was merely to point out the fact that it is completely uncalled for to start bashing on these kids based on your skewed thought processes. Jeez man. |

I'm a full time college student and I needed a car to make the commute everyday to and from school. |

my god you guys are a bunch of whiny bitches!
lambtron is the only person who makes any sense. you guys are attacking someone because that person had nicer things than you had at that age. why start a fight? this is supposed to be a car forum where we share our love and passion for our cars, not fight with each other on how we obtained the car. THIS IS WHY E90POST HAS GONE DOWNHILL AND SO HAS OT, it is just a shit storm upon innocent people by others who act like tools on the internet and are jealous of other people and their positions. GROW UP
