I finally got my first BMW - a 2015 M235i. Liked it a lot ... until the 2016 M2 came out. Instead of spending $25K to upgrade to the OG M2 with the same N55 engine, I went for a 2018 Camaro 2SS 1LE.

But finally, in 2021 I got my first real M car, the M2 Competition, and never looked back. Have a 2025 G87 on order now at status 155 Final Assembly. Hope to have it by late September!
Nice. This is kind of me. My last 6 cars were charger 392s and one hellcat. Just got my son a 24 m2 and it’s a blast to drive. With our great country taking away beloved American v8’s, I don’t know what I’ll do next but this m2 certainly makes a strong case… my only complaint for me is that’s just not as comfortable as what I’m used too, more than missing the v8 is that. Might have to go x3m lol test drove one and it was also a beast .. this motor and drivetrain is fantastic is all I can say it’s hard not to want something with the s58

Hello all!
I know it’s been a while (feels like forever for me as it’s been the wait for my dream car) but just wanted to provide an update.
The dealership said it’s arriving at the port on the 13th of January, so I should be able to pick it up by the end of the month!!!!!!
I can’t believe it.
Only a few more weeks for something I have wanted and waited for since I was 12 (over 30 years).

Thanks again for all the great comments. It’s so nice to hear that many of us car guys have shared similar experiences and journey to getting out first M.

Well now at the ripe old age of forty something and I have the big things in life sorted, I just went and ordered a brand new G87 M2 and I am beside myself with joy!

It will be the face lift model and is Brooklyn grey with black wheels.
When I saw that colour combo at the dealership I knew immediately that this spec is the one!

When I first saw the model in person I fell in love with it, and so fittingly, almost poetically, the shape of the M I was buying reminded me of my uncles E30 with the squareness of it and the boxed rear guards. Kind of a ‘full circle’, ‘beautiful connection’ and ‘I knew I would one day get one’ type of moment.

Will arrive in November, and I am still pinching myself.
Here's what you've been yearning for all these years mate*...

Great post. Enjoy every second of it!

* Me too!! Best car movie ever!

T-Rexx, Congrats on the impending M2 delivery. They are awesome little machines.
The boat my M2 is on just docked in New Zealand... next stop... Sydney.
Getting excited now even though it will probably take another 2-3 weeks from when the car is offloaded....

Thanks mate, I can’t wait!

Hopefully time goes quickly for you, as it has felt like an eternity for me!

Our timings are very similar though as my boat just docked on the 13th, also in Sydney.
If it helps my dealer said it’s 2 to 2.5 weeks from port delivery to hand over

What spec did you go for?
I went for Brooklyn grey, black wheels, M tri colour seat trim, and leather steering wheel.

I’m guessing no spacers….VT forged can make nice low single digit offset wheels so most likely no spacers needed for a flush fit. I plan to get a set eventually.

I have a set of VT Forged and Andy helps with offset so no spacers necessary.

Absolutely correct that there are no spacers necessary with the offset AndyVTForged helps you with. He can basically make it whatever "equivalent fitment" you'd like.

Mine are:

19 x 9.5" +5
20 x 11" +8

This is the equivalent to 15mm & 18mm spacers.

Hope that helps!
