You can not like something... while not hating it and making that hate your entire personality. You know that right?

I dunno, maybe the CT batteries are sealed better than the normal ones. But every time we get hurricane flooding here we get bunches of EVe catching fire from sitting in the (brackish) flood waters. Maybe there's a difference between sliding the car for a YT video and the real life of a car literally sitting in the water for hours? I dunno. I'm not gonna find out either, lol.

The Hummer is a great comparison. Had not heard that made.

Except he's factually way off.
H2 popularity was driven (partly) by the ability tp write off the purchase process over 1-2 years for a business owner. So if you owned a business, you could basically drive it for free, reducing your taxable income by like 60k while driving it, depreciating it for the business, then sell it for most of what you paid and get something new. None of this worked as a lease, you had to purchase it to depreciate it. So they were dumping them early so they could get something new to depreciate. The Hummers also sold quite well, and made GM a lot of money. It was only the greenies that hated them. They still sell for big money, especially if you were to look at an H2 SUT with the later 6.2L and 6 speed auto... 35k plus easy no matter the condition or miles. |

The fact is it may appear BMWs are super common in the United States, but they actually are not. BMW continues to hold right around 2.5% of the market in the United States.

I guess the lesson is to pay attention to what certain people do, rather than say.

Why wouldn’t he? If he can sell more with credits, report higher sales, drive Tesla stock up, and make even more money...
No, the lesson here is he’s just getting richer like they all are. |

Never cared to look into what does or does not qualify, but I believe factors had more to do with where the car was made and the buyer's income in order to qualify. Could be wrong, though. Cite an article.

https://www.investopedia.com/tesla-p...-boost-7964740 "By dropping the starting price of the Model X to $79,990 — a $41,000 reduction from the start of the year — Tesla made the sport utility vehicle eligible for the federal tax credits revamped by the Inflation Reduction Act, President Joe Biden’s signature climate bill." Probably just a coincidence.

I'll take that as agreement with my original point.

Yep, after COVID, everything was selling like crazy with huge mark-ups. So he was selling with crazy profits. Later, sales started to slow down as the market adjusted. So, he lowered prices to sell more with available tax credits and was still making a profit. I don’t see any problem with that. The fact is, Tesla can survive with or without subsidies, unlike many other manufacturers as we see recently.

I have seen a few of these now on the road. Even though I would never buy an EV of any kind and this one is still ugly, it is still nice to see something else other than a Camry or CRV on the road. There is one that has a Matte Black wrap on it that actually looks quite sharp.

Like I said, Tesla can survive with or without subsidies at this point. Their average gross profit per vehicle sold is around $8K–$9K, one of the highest in the auto industry. Now, if you add Supercharging profits (from their own and other EVs), Autopilot purchases, home charger sales, etc., they can lower prices even further to stay competitive.

I'm sure it 's lower for Tesla and everybodoy else in 2024 compared to 3-4 years ago, but Tesla is still doing pretty good. Remember, they don’t have to deal with the R&D of new drivetrains to meet stricter EU/US emission laws. They can literally use the same motor from 2013 with small upgrades and implement cheaper battery manufacturing.

Two personalized plates I've seen around here on a Cybertruck:
MONOLTH (which I almost hate to admit is on my best friend's truck- my wife came up with it after we watched 2001) and HIELON (which is actually kind of funny) I've seen CYBRTRK as well-- but weirdly enough? It was on a 3. R.

That video was hilarious. Baja mode looks pretty sick.
