I am left-handed, so pen driven, windows powered tablets are even bigger pain in the ass for me, because the scroll bars are on the wrong side.

iPad on the other hand.... you won't understand until you actually get to use one for longer than 5 minutes.

Are you guys serious? lol I guess its a losing battle against a bunch of apple fans but how on earth could an I pad be easier than a laptop for sitting on a couch surfing the internet?

because unlike with a laptop, you can lay down and still use an iPad, you can hold it however you want and it will orient itself to the right direction. Try turning a laptop sideways and try to surf the web then. And what do you need flash for? Seriously the only site I use that requires flash is youtube and thats supported in iOS. Most porn sites are too so you're not missing much on that end either.

It's really just one of those things you won't miss if you don't have one, but don't know how you'd live w/o it once you do.

If iit's not work related, I'll grab the iPad 9/10 times. Plus the scrabble app is worth $600 alone.

shit, i sold my iPhone 3GS for $360. This is exactly what i paid for iPhone 4 the day before.

the iPad will not have the same resale value like the iPhone. if it was locked because you can make calls with it, different story. i'm guessing a used 1st generation iPad will be resold for half or less the value of it brand new.

I use one almost every day at work

It's just my personal preference, Id much rather use a laptop 100% of the time. ofc it has to be a good laptop though.

Let's not start talking weight and portability. Much of your argument is absolutely based around your personal needs and not the actual application by the average person.

And lets not talk about battery life; that IPad thingamajig's battery life lasts forever. When i use my pc i get a couple hours if im lucky, half the time i cant even watch a full movie on the plane.

Nah no e-hipster, not sure how you got that out of my post. I guess its good if your just browsing, I personally don't like touch screen keyboards and I usually like to respond so I like having a keyboard. I just lay on my back on the couch and have the laptop by my junk.

To answer your first question, yes sometimes. My office runs off a terminal server so I can do everything from home

. I have yet to try remote desktop on the ipad but it wasn't that great on my old iphone. Does anyone use remote desktop on their ipad with success?(Honest Question)

of course! but even if i sell it after a year for 50% of what I paid for it, i would not mind. the convenience it provides is priceless.
