+1.
And MUCH easier than all the other tablets that have been around for years. Ever tried to use a tablet with a pen? It's fucking retarded. I am left-handed, so pen driven, windows powered tablets are even bigger pain in the ass for me, because the scroll bars are on the wrong side. iPad on the other hand.... you won't understand until you actually get to use one for longer than 5 minutes.

Are you guys serious? lol I guess its a losing battle against a bunch of apple fans but how on earth could an I pad be easier than a laptop for sitting on a couch surfing the internet?

because unlike with a laptop, you can lay down and still use an iPad, you can hold it however you want and it will orient itself to the right direction. Try turning a laptop sideways and try to surf the web then. And what do you need flash for? Seriously the only site I use that requires flash is youtube and thats supported in iOS. Most porn sites are too so you're not missing much on that end either.

It's really just one of those things you won't miss if you don't have one, but don't know how you'd live w/o it once you do.
If iit's not work related, I'll grab the iPad 9/10 times. Plus the scrabble app is worth $600 alone.

the iPad will not have the same resale value like the iPhone. if it was locked because you can make calls with it, different story. i'm guessing a used 1st generation iPad will be resold for half or less the value of it brand new.

You have never used an ipad before, have you? Blindly hating on something is just as bad as blindly loving something.

Re-read what you wrote. You weren't expressing personal preference you were showing a general disdain for the use of the product. You an e-hipster?

To answer your first question, yes sometimes. My office runs off a terminal server so I can do everything from home . I have yet to try remote desktop on the ipad but it wasn't that great on my old iphone. Does anyone use remote desktop on their ipad with success?(Honest Question) |

I have the original iPad and to be honest I don't use my laptop anymore. Im not even exaggerating. Things got much better with ios4.2 and with ios4.3 I think it'll be even better. I really hope they include those multiple touch gestures in 4.3
I might jump on iPad 2 if I give away my first gen. But I'll most likely wait till iPad 3 for upgrade. We'll see. I have to add one thing, I wouldn't use the iPad to do actual work. It's more when I get home, sit on the couch and relax. Its so easy to pick the thing up and do casual stuff on it.

of course! but even if i sell it after a year for 50% of what I paid for it, i would not mind. the convenience it provides is priceless.
