Hey Matt, congratulations!!
That is a badass truck....I tried one out and you feel like you are about three stories up in one of those! Easy to work on, easy to modify (you know you want a chip or that!), and looking great! I traded my e90 for a Dodge Magnum....last Thursday! They gave me a cheque back, I got a slightly used one so as not to take the depreciation hit, which Dodges do suffer a great deal! I was at 80,000km, so officially OFF warranty, with the Magnum I get another 35,000km of new car warranty. I love the space, the utility, the ride, the looks (and I get looks too), and the fact that I am not paying for things I don't want and will never need. Would have been nice to get the Hemi and a sunroof, but I chose the 3.5l for its fuel efficiency....the power is there, 250hp and torque. It still goes off the line better than my e90 did, and the torque is there on the highway when I need it. Anyway, you are a legendary e90poster, don't stop! I guess I am a "Car Guy", not strictly a "BMW Guy".

Matt, what's the size of that V8? I would imagine that's the old true, tried and tested pushrod V8 that Dodge has been using for quite some time now? Dad has an old carbureted Magnum V8 in a 1980s Dodge van that still runs despite the use of an old fashioned distributor and no fuel injection.

It's the 4.7, and I'm pretty sure it's not pushrod, I think it's DOHC, but I'd have to check.
But this motor is strong, sounds awesome (with my Magnaflow muffler), and get respectable freeway mileage. I get 23-24mpg on smooth freeway rides with cruise control, and no major hill ascents. I'm supposed to be able to tow 8,000 lbs. Considering I only plan to tow like 4,000, that's great. |

Spray in that bed liner! If you are going to use the truck for ANYTHING other than driving, you gotta have that liner. It's not such a worry about getting things in the bed before, if they do it right they actually have to sand the clearcoat/paint before application. I recommend over the edge, you don't want to scratch up the rails. Outside of music, the spray in was teh best thing I did to my truck.
