Well, official word from BMW is that the car will be launched in April. Allocations need to drop within the next few weeks if we are to hit the timeframe that they publicly committed to.

There is a catch with “launch” as it is vague. Is it the Marketing Launch or Vehicle Launch? If allocations are not distributed within the next 3-4 weeks (max) it clearly will be a marketing launch.

I just placed my order/deposit for MSRP price at a nearby dealer. I was told a couple of people received production numbers recently and that I can expect to receive mine in at least 6 weeks. I don't have much trust in what dealers tell me but this seems about right..

I spoke with my dealer's general manager today. He confirmed to me that there are internal BMW memos confirming a delay in m2 production to third quarter.

I made sure to ask him if it was a rumour or confirmed by BMW memos internally and he said it is confirmed internally.
