I emailed my CA yesterday to see what he knows. Unfortunately, he didn't know much. My dealer reached out to BMW to find out more (no response yet) because, along with my car, there are a few other cars coming into my dealer with build dates in September that haven't moved.

That’s what I was saying earlier…the logistics is very poor. There is no communication between factory and the distributor. There is no information being fed up stream..at least let us know that there is a delay and provide an etc…instead we are out here tracking ships and hoping for answers

My CA got back to me and he said its still showing "at port" and expected to get on Glovis Sunrise...he just doesn't know whats going on with the vessel. We'll see what happens I guess.

Looking at Vessel Finders summary of the departures and arrivals for Veracruz it looks like there has been no movement at all, in either way, since October 30th, which is crazy.
So I got to thinking about the time period this has happened in, which is around the Day of the Dead (November 1st and 2nd). Now I know Day of the Dead is a big holiday in Mexico in general, but why would it affect Veracruz and not Altamira. So I did a quick Google search on Day of the Dead and Veracruz, and apparently this is a far bigger deal in Veracruz as opposed to anywhere else in Mexico. From National Geographic: In Veracruz, the Day of the Dead celebration is said to be more important than Christmas, since the preparations, meals and decorations are made with much more anticipation and dedication. The region takes a week-long period solely dedicated to preparing for Día de los Muertos. I'm now convinced this is the reason for the delays at the port and things will start moving again once the festivities have wrapped up, which I have no idea if that's going to be tomorrow or the end of the week. But this seems like a more logical explanation than port delays or anything else I've heard thus far. Until then, I will live vicariously through my car by watching Coco and imagining my car driving through the Land of the Dead. |

I just called Genius and they said the info usually updates to "At Port" once a ship is assigned. Makes no sense, but what does with any of this? They're also quoting 8 weeks from 165 "RFT" now due to "conditions in Mexico". |

I wonder if the conditions in Mexico are they are too cheap to pay or someone in logistics shit the bed. Cause I see a whole lot of vehicle carriers in and out of Mexico in my 5 weeks.

8 weeks of "being parked at the port in a building that protects your car from the elements" was the exact phrase they gave me today.
Other verbatim wording: "Germany was like this 6 months ago, taking 8 weeks for shipping, but they got a lot quicker, and now it's Mexico. They're now at around 8 weeks, so you should be seeing your car at the dealer by sometime in December." Comforting. My build date was 09/21, date at port shows 10/02. So, I've been in a parking garage for 31 days from the sounds of it. |

They've been wrong about everything else, maybe they are now overshooting the wait time so they aren't continually backtracking. I'm just depending on these Glovis ships to pick up our cars.

I got the overwhelming feeling that they're reading from a script as soon as you say "Mexico".
Something caused a backlog, and they are now covering by overshooting as you said. A few weeks ago, they said "4 weeks at worst". |

im status 165 and again was told in no uncertain terms to expect this car to arrive before EOY by the genius. it really is funny talking to them
"sir i apologize but we really are taught to refrain from committing to certain timetables" "OK, thats fine. just tell me if this sounds reasonable, unreasonable, or too long. January 2024?" "too long" November 2023?" "unreasonable" "thanks man, have a great day" |

What is weird is that i got in RFT 10/3 but my car (allegedly) was waiting for a truck until 10/30 because there "weren't enough cars on the truck to justify the trip" Crazy how different these experiences are if we assume accurate info coming from genius. |

In NYC with build that started September 30th, and it’s been on RFT/165 since October 6th. Hoping it gets assigned a ship and port soon so I can see this thing end of month lol

It’s amazing how our week 38/39 brothers got built, quickly transported and mostly delivered, but the rest of us got stuck with 30+days in port, weather delays, day of the dead delays, and still not even on a ship.
Such a messy and inconsistent supply chain operation by BMW. I’m sure they too don’t like to sit on finished goods, unsold inventory.

My build date was 9/23 (week 38) and went into RFT 9/29. I literally missed the boat by 1 day. That one day is now costing me well over a month of what otherwise would have been great driving days. I almost feel like cancelling my order, submitting a new order, which would probably arrive in March, just because I won't be driving the car much between now and March anyways. And maybe I'd change from Toronto red to Frozen Portimao blue.
