Which was always odd considering the other person couldn't actually hear the phone slam down.

When few co-workers asked you what your favorite movie as a kid was and nobody has a clue and had to google it.

When I lived in Biloxi, my friends and I would be able to tune Beaker Street Am. The weather had to be accommodating and we could only pick it up at nite. We use to record as much as we could. Sound quality was generally poor but still very listenable. They played stuff that was difficult to find in stores.
Man, I haven't thought of that in years Last edited by Roadcrew; 11-21-2024 at 06:49 PM.. Reason: The usual grammar problem |

his 1949 Ford home from somewhere in the valley. It was dark, which seemed to amplify the clever sound effects of the detective mystery. Squeaky brakes, slamming doors, etc. Really great for anyone’s imagination. I was about 6 years old at the time.

I remember the Dr. Demento Show. I think it was on KMET.
Will never forget this jingle. Last edited by Esteban; 11-22-2024 at 07:52 AM.. |

Can’t say any of this applies to me. There are way too many things to do in Chicago to be staying home. If this ever happens it’ll be time for me to sell my Bimmer and move back to Texas. I will say I’m not interested in long distance highway driving at night. Too much road construction and I really hate driving through construction in the dark.

Sirius XM was running Dr. Demento up until 2005.
WMMR in Philly was the go-to station for progressive rock for me. "The Marconi Experiment" was one leading-edge show they ran late at night. |
