@Fredward Thanks for the info. Do you know which port BMW uses to import new cars into NY/NJ/PA? My guess would be Elizabeth, NJ.

I was updated to "Ready for Transport" on 4/20. Hoping it catches the next available ship. It wouldn't be cool if it sat there for a week..

apparently i'm not picking my car up today... it seems the greatest challenge in the world is getting my registration and plates back... so now the earliest (without a miracle) i'll be getting my car is next week.... i know for those who are waiting for a boat etc that my annoyance seems dumb.. but when you've paid for and insured the car and it's just sitting on a lot waiting for you.. it's hella annoying

something i learned in this process, and the dealer told me .. so take it with a grain of salt.. BMW makes dealers agree to not let customers register their own car/CoO..

Man that’s annoying as hell, I’ve never dealt with anything like that with Tulley. I’ve been doing leases through them though, so I’m not sure how that process differs from a purchase.

if you are a NH resident i believe you can have temporary paper plates.. MA doesn't do them.. so it's not really their issue (it's still annoying)... Most MA car dealers are really like mini RMVs and can give permanent plates on the spot.

if i had traded a car in.. this wouldn't have been an issue.. so basically i did this by going out of state, and not trading in.. but still.. the transaction to get a plate is like 15 minutes.. no need for it to take days..

I see, that makes sense. I didn’t realize MA doesn’t do paper plates like us.

Mine is still at port in Newark. There are just frustrating delays everywhere for everything. We are truly in the Age of Shoddy.

Just moved to at the port

Here's an updated timeline:
- 2/14 - ordered
- 2/14 - scheduled for production
- 3/8 - production begins
- 3/15 - exterior body assembly begins
- 3/15 - in the paint booth
- 3/15 - entering assembly line
- 3/16 - assembly in progress
- 3/16 - quality check
- 3/17 - final assembly
- 4/12 - ready for transport
- 4/22 - awaiting carrier assignment
- 4/22 - dispatched from factory
- 4/22 - at the port

I see that the Glovis Sunlight will dock at Lazaro Cardenas this weekend and it's supposed to go to Hueneme, so fingers crossed that I make it on that ship!

BrawnyCh beamer-dreamer stand strong Gents! The waiting is almost over!

Just picked up my 230 from the BMW of Brooklyn, and I'm telling you, it's was worth waiting for it since 01/17/2022

To all enthusiasts who are waiting at the port in MX - I know how hard is to stay patient at this moment, but you all are almost made it as well!

Happy Friday to all of ya!

As far as I know bmw does not send vehicles by train or truck from Mexico. They send them all by boat and then once in the US by truck to the final destination.

Curious, does anyone know if the standard NE route is Baltimore AFTER Philly? Sallaum's website states that it hits Baltimore after PA but that doesn't make sense to me if NJ is the next stop.

Right now the Glovis Sun is headed to Philly from Jax, ETA 4/25.
