Andy Grammer Concert in Austin on Black Friday. I think this wound up being my favorite shot. I just brought the camera for fun, didn't expect to get much out of it and wound up with some pretty fun shots.
The lighting was tough, stage lights are all blue/red and the green didn't really show much (I think their set was dim), but it turned out to give some really cool backdrops with the other lights in the color shots. I'll probably share those next. I have more nature shots as well coming through, particularly of some frogs, but I haven't edited those yet. We'll get there. Peparing for Andy Gammer by Shane

Been sick all week. I see some stunning shots were posted while I was trying to throw off the flu.
Here's a shot of the Bay Bridge, taken from the Embarcadaro, outside Waterbar restaurant. Bay Bridge Lights (Explored) by David Stephens, on Flickr As part of the update, LED lights were added that cycle through a series of patterns. Someone with a little time, should take a time-lapse and compress it into a short video.

Twilight Triangle
Today has been a beautiful, clear and cold day.
Just after sunset we were treated to a beautiful celestial triangle in the SSW sky, comprising Mars, the crescent Moon and Venus. Here's a shot I took about an hour after sunset and before most other stars started to show. Mars, upper left and Venus, lower right, together with the crescent Moon framing the ruins of Duffus Castle. Twilight Triangle by Alan Butterfield, on Flickr

Nice shot of the Bay Bridge Dave.
Hope you're feeling better. Do you get flu jabs over there ? Here, when we get to a certain age, or have a chronic illness, we are entitled to a free anti-flu vaccination, I had them for years and they seem to work.

Well, I didn't get my flu shot this year because the doc gave me my pneumonia vaccination in late August or early September and you need to wait a certain number of days between "live" vaccinations. A couple of things are planned for this month, but too late for flu! Under our "Medicare" plan, the vaccinations are free or very inexpensive. Dave

After my 'Twilight Triangle' shot last night, I went back to Duffus Castle this afternoon for a very frosty sunset shot.
It was not especially cold (minus 4C), but after a while it starts to feel a lot colder. Frosty Duffus copy by Alan Butterfield, on Flickr

Funny weather we're having here just now. Today the max was around -4C (around 25F), by Wednesday the forecasters are saying it could be up to +15C (59F) !

We've been swinging back and forth also. 9F in morning and 50F in afternoon. With -5F predicted Wednesday, I'm glad that I have the right equipment.
