Yes, very advantageous. The caveat is that the "catchers" have to be equipped with large, sturdy bags - old car covers and canvas tents work well, I've found - since Doris is very enthusiastic and is prone to following the snipe into the bag with great vigor.

Can the same tactics be used to catch steelhead??? They are about as elusive as the snipes.

Yup, you'll want to use old tents for the bags; the screen windows let the water flow through when they're deployed in a stream or river, without sweeping the catcher downstream. It can be tough to find waders to fit the dog. Other than that, it works the same. Don't make the same mistake I did, slathering the tent in chum. The dog forgot all about the steelhead and went straight for the tent and wouldn't come out, and the tent stunk the truck up something fierce.

Yeah, and that's where the dog makes me ride - with the tents! See the problem now?

Hi New to this forum!

Funny that my first reply is about the family pet and not the car

We got a pet rabbit. He is actually kinda cool since he is house-broken and use a box just like a cat would.

When I was 7 or 8 years old my grandfather got us 2 rabbits. Before you knew it we had over 20. I came home from school one day and they were gone from their cages. My grandfather told me they ran away. He lied. They were in his freezer. I was very cautious about eating my grandmother's "chicken" dishes after that!

Sorry, its been too long, but I remember our Shepherds occasionally having itching issues, something to do with their coat I believe, but I was a kid / teen at the time and don't remember. Seems to me I think they started giving her some raw egg in her kibble, but don't quote me, not sure that's what my parents did. But it did resolve and came back periodically.
