My CA followed up after asking for clarification.

Original message for context...

Evidently, a couple of BMW big shots were visiting our store today and your car came up in the conversation.
Bottom line your car will be put on a ship scheduled to leave on the 20th. With a little luck, we might see it by the end of this month.

The status of the car will be updated in the next few days.

Yes, I agree that the information is kind of scratchy and the math does not work, but the man can be hopeful! ????

I think we are looking more for second week of December, but let's wait for the update...

I don't know that I would trust a CA's timeline. I have decent faith in mine and I am not being given a timeline.

Today I was told they have reached out to reps and they were told it should be here by the end of the month, but can't give me more details. I expect they are in a similar situation, and anything additional they are providing is merely a guess. I was told they would try to do more digging but I can't expect much more.

If end of November is accurate, it's gonna have to be on one of these ro-ro's.

My CA has gone AWOL on me, he told me he was going to have their sales team reach out and get me some information and he is yet to provide me any information that I don’t already know. I’m just pissed because the winter months are coming when my car is basically useless in New England and will mostly likely be locked into my garage through March at the earliest. I seriously considered canceling my order and probably redoing this in Jan/feb so I can have it for early spring but I have a deposit down which I’m worried I might lose.

I'm in the same situation regarding winter. I'm going to take delivery though, cancel this one and reorder it might be mid-late summer at this pace.

Only reason I’d consider this is for the frozen paint colors. Otherwise what’s really the difference?

If you want to take delivery later, there is virtually no wait for allocation and production.

You can order today and be built next week with high volume dealers.

The only thing I think may be new is getting ID8.5 or 9 with the new head unit for builds after Nov. But nothing is confirmed.

Fair about ID8.5 but that being said - even if you get an allocation immediately, have fun doing this again for 4 weeks haha

So I'm looking at my dealer's inventory and they have 3 M2's now and 1 appears to be for sale possibly from someone backing out. It has a production date of 10/11/2023. What the world!!! And I'm sitting here waiting for my car to get on a ship with a production date of 9/29. SMH!!!

I hope they are able to clear out all of their backlog of cars that have been sitting in the warehouse for quite some time. I think the majority of the cars are in Veracruz based on the amount of owners waiting in this thread. With 2 ships (Condor, Sky) already loading up in Altamira and Sunrise heading there next, that should get most of the cars moved out I would think.

Another idea is wait until it gets to the dealer and then tell your CA that you can’t use it, and may reorder. Then you may be able to negotiate the price down before taking ownership?

I don't expect concessions the way the industry is pricing - I got a little bit off at agreement and it's like pulling teeth for that. Merc offered me double, although I didn't truly want the C43. It's sexy but as the salesman told my wife, you don't buy Mercedes for reliability (true story).

I am putting on the carbon splitter, skirts and lip, which they also gave me a parts deal on, but maybe they will give me a discount on labor too! I don't expect anything lol.

I don't I've been refreshing the page periodically to see any updates but nothing yet. It also does not appear on the Altamira, Brunswick, or NY/NJ port "expected" list as of yet. Unfortunately there is no "future ports" on Vessel Finder and it seems most of the schedules we've seen are quite a bit out of date.

Not sure that is still accurate since it was held up for days in Veracruz. It will probably spend another 5 days in Mexico and then head off. I'm holding out hope that your CA is right despite the lack of our port on the original schedule. I find it hard to believe that the ship is schedule to come all the way to Rode Island without a stop in NY/NJ where they have a huge VPC.
