Shaggy, but intense.
I'll bet that with all the recent moisture, these guys will start looking real good by this summer. We're getting rain right now and it should turn to snow tonight. I can't wait to get out in the morning.

Zion was awesome. I'd love to go back with a real camera this time. Even with a crappy 3MP camera, the pics were decent. You really have to make an effort to take a bad pic in Zion.

Super shot, Ed. I know all too well how hard it is to keep focus on a harrier flying that low to the grass. This shot is perfection.
I just watched a segment on Sunday Morning on CBS, about using falcons to protect vineyards from birds, such as European starlings. Make sure you check it out.

Now for something a little different - winter pomegranate in Sonoma. This photo was taken with a Carl Zeiss Biotar 58mm f/2 built in ~1959. Wide open it has a unique bokeh often rendering a painting like quality.

Josh, great shot.
I'll never forget, in about 1972, washing my Mazda RX-2 in a "Magic Wand" car wash, when a guy pulls in with a Daytona in full race trim. The numbers were still on the side, the aluminum fenders were full of out-dents from gravel hitting in there and the paint was scratched all over the whole car. The open pipes almost broke my ear drums. This was in Tampa, Florida and the guy had bought off a racing team a year or two prior and was just driving it occasionally and keeping it in its "natural" condition. Nice guy, that I never saw again. I'd probably seen the car race and Daytona or Sebring or both. Back then, you could buy those for five-figures, or less. Today, they're seven-figures. Talk about a great investment, if only....
