Was any of the G87 cars pictured had the gold strip so far? If so, I must have missed it because all I remember seeing is the shawdowline headlights on all spotted cars expect for the AW one spotted in Mexico with the base headlights.

Non shadowline adaptive headlights. Doesn't appear to have gold strip but not 100% sure. Also doesn't appear to be a US spec car so maybe the gold strip varies by market.

The likelihood that BMW’s supplier is producing more than three headlights is slim.

It is not a U.S. spec G87 as the amber reflector in the front bumper cover is MIA.

The gold stripe is on the BMW USA configurator. The likelihood that BMW’s supplier is producing more than three headlights is slim.
How do you explain the image I posted then? I'm 90% sure that's a silver strip. Either there are 4 versions or the configurator isn't right.

Or… the gold stripe is simply not visible given the lighting and angle which is highly possible.

Note, the German and French configurators also show the headlight with the gold stripe.

Lighting package + Shadow-line for the win

If only the gold strip was blue , now that would've looked dope imo

Really liking the non shadowline more, since they designed a super complex curvy headlights, the gold stripe seems to pop the contrast.

Curious if that gold strip affects the light output color of the DRL.. 🤔

I came across these images in the G42 forum. I think it's safe to say it certainly does. Note the clear distinction in shadowline missing from the BSM G42.

Clearly it is not an exact match, but it appears that the G42/G87 gold/bronze strip headlight is attempting to replicate the yellow hue of the M5 CS DRLs. Just saying…

I...kinda like it

Committed to shadowline on my build, nonetheless.

Truthfully, none of us are fully committed until we get an allocation and the build is scheduled for production.

Yup, my daily drivers have been manual for nearly 10 years now. I think and hope I'll enjoy this 8-speed auto but in the event that I absolutely hate it (doubtful), I'll find a way to jump into a manual M.

Big risk with all the chatter about the G8Xs being the last manual M cars so we'll see. Fingers crossed!

100% Non-Shadowline headlights. You can somewhat see the gold/bronze strip with the DRL lit as it is what is providing the yellowish hue towards the back where the strip is located.

The second photo is the Shadowline headlight.

The Non-Shadowline headlights appears more like a 3000-4000 K and the Shadowline a 7000-8000 K.

Notice the same license plate number in both photos. Is this the same car in both shots? Could first photo with amber lighting be with parking lamps turned on rather than just DRLs in the second?
