I dont know that I would. I dont know have a 718, my Cayman S is only a 987 but that vs my 2 is a very different driving experience. Get both. Best of both worlds |

I'm struggling to understand how the base M2 with a 6MT could have the same power delivery as a G82C. Didn't BMW swear that the 6MT couldn't handle the bigger output of the competition models? Then, what does BMW have planned for the M2C? It seems like something isn't adding up here.

Is this another clue? If not why do the people that actually sat in these cars and talked to BMW engineers keep saying "Competition"? They can't all be coincidences, can they...
BMWBLOG seems to imply the car will start as an M2 Competition model. Shmee references the AT car as a Competition model. Which thanks to T_U_D's keen eye, pointed out that it has the M seat belts which on the G80/2 only come on Comp models. Not to mention the S58 engine code is the same as the high output M3/4C models. |

FYI, if the G87 base ends up with the same power as a G80/G82 Competition then it is unlikely that a G87 Competition would later be introduced. It would be against BMW’s nature to offer/sell a model below another series with more power. That goes against the marketing department’s up-sell. Edit: Personally, I believe the base car will be the competition car, it just will not be called that. It will be the M2 with the highest output available notwithstanding a CS or CSL later down the line. |

I love how everyone is baffled at what the power output of the G87 will be when ynguldyn confirmed it would be 455hp many moons ago.
The only caveat to that is we don't know what the EU models will be, probably safe to assume slightly less due to their particular filter requirements. Sorry to say. |

Wondering what all the talks about same power as M4C are about…someone that really thinks they would put the same power on a M2 as on the M3/M4s missed something in the last years… |

I don't mind the seats. I honestly believe BMW is trying it's best to keep the base M2 near $60k. If that means OGM2-like seats, then so be it. |

I don’t get the comments on the seats, they look way better than what they put in the OG M2 and not too far off what they’re using in the more expensive G8x.

If you plan to drive in a very spirited way or take it to the track just get the buckets.
Let's not fool ourselves, over half of the G8x sold with buckets are for asthetics reasons.. No need to complain about the regular seats, they will be totally fine for car and coffee outings and Costco runs..

For me the biggest problem with the G87 design is the shape of the headlights. Some of these camouflaged pics make the shape of the headlights look very similar to the ones on the F87.This makes the front end design look so much more aggressive compared to the actual stubby headlights.Hopefully BMW will change them for the LCI.

I think I am right. The cheapest model will have those seats standard. That is how they maintain the 19% delta between the M4, while adding things like adaptive suspension standard. |

Joe Achilles states in his video that the seats seen in the manual car “are for select markets.” I do not believe the U.S. will see them unless NA wants to simply sell a ton of the buckets, aka part of a larger plan.
Nearly four more months of speculating, this is going to get very tiresome. |
