One question...how do you have a splitter on a 230i??? Did you have the dealer put one on?

You can get one with full shadow line package. I didn’t have, that’s why I bought separate. $94 + $40 fasteners.

That's awesome!! I am on it...thanks much!!! I didn't realize the spoiler came at all, but one needs that $800 shadowline pkg AND it adds the Prem Pkg for another $1950...I kept mine bare bones. Seems a steal at the prices you noted!

My assumption is that a +30 or + 35 set would reduce the poke on the rear, and require a slightly larger spacer on the fronts (10 or 15MM) for a square setup. Is there a reason why you stuck with +25 wheels?

For real, a lot of 5*112 rims have short choice of offsets. Plus - price, weight, availability and appearance. And don’t forget about small gap to shock absorber on front. As result, we have what we have.

I'll be test fitting a 19x9.5 et45 wheel next week. Should reduce the poke by about 14mm vs above but still 8mm more than stock. Then space 5-10mm for desired outcome.

I got a fun call from my BMW dealership this morning - someone backed out of their delivery. I'm now the proud owner of an M240i in Brooklyn Grey. Only thing not spec'd on the car was the high performance package. It's riding on 791M Wheels. Any ideas how wide I can go when I switch out for summer tires in April-May? I'm thinking 245 front and back?

How bad was the install? You pulled the whole fascia to do it?

There are two options:
- fasten on car. Much easier, but some brackets most likely you will have to delete and no pattern for proper position.
- take bumper off. You can find marked holes inside, and make holes in right places. I spent about 4 hours. Not very difficult, but need some work.

Congrats, the auto supply gods have shone upon you!! Beautiful color too!!

As far as tires, yeah, you'll easily get 245 squared on that car. As you noted, the M240 has a package with 245s up front. The trick, IMO, for a square set up on these cars is that the backspacing is not the same front and rear, so get the rears set up well, and use spacers to push out as necessary as the rears hubs sit outward more than the front...by 5mm by my guess.

I have 255 square with OZ wheels with a 30ET. Worked out very well...and that's without any spacers.

Thoughts? I was thinking of just using only a bolt and nut (with washers) in lieu of the OE hardware you cited. I know it'll be a pain to remove having to hold down the nuts on the inside, but I think the drilling will be nominal...measure twice, drill once and cut no slots for the female clips you have. The only drawback would be removal of the spoiler necessitates access inside that bumper cover.

I'm thinking rivnuts/jacknuts or rubber well nuts, for plastic applications. Not sure just yet. I can't seem to find a service manual as of yet to even look at the fascia removal process.

I’m not super crazy about using spacers. Think 245s will fit on the 791M wheels without additional work? I’m not looking to get aftermarket wheels just yet. A better compound mix and wider tires would be nice though. What profile are your 255s? 35? 40?

I fit 245/35 on my front 792M wheel from 225/40 without any issues.

My rear came with 255/35 and hence didnt change the tire size.

Stay tuned, I'm going to be test fitting a 275/35-19 on a 19x9.5 wheel with a +45 offset. Yes I know this is bigger than a stock tire, but not by an appreciable amount. I'm planning on doing a square set up so I'll be testing front and rear, plus a number of different spacers from 5mm - 15mm to exact the fit.

Was able to find a cheap new wheel and used tire on ebay, before taking the plunge on a full price setup for 4 wheels. This may or may not be the wheel I am planning on going with but what seems to be the best offset for a square wheel given the limited options.

That +45 on 9.5 with 275 will touch the front struts.GR supra 19x9 et 32 fronts with their stock 255 can't clear the front struts. 15mm spacer front might work, but those tires might be too wide. Is 20mm spacers up front in the plan? I'm very curious I'm looking around for wheels that are 19x9.5 et25 and I want to do squared set up as well.

I confirmed the fit. The 275/35-19 on a 9.5 et45 wheel fit awesome in back. Still plenty of room everywhere. Front it was a totally different outcome. Hit the strut, even after adding another 15mm of spacers.

Probably would need to add 30mm of spacers to clear with enough room to be safe. At that point it would be need fender flares the wheels would poke so much. 255 on an 8.5 inch wheel is probably the best we can hope for up front. Even thats going to be iffy at best.

Glad to see the 275/35 rear is a proper fit, this is what I've been waiting for!

For a wider tire to equal the diameter of a narrower tire it takes 3 increased sizes in width and 1 drop in ratio.

For those that like a little meatier look, and a little more sidewall protection, we can have a 245/40 front and a 275/35 rear (3 sizes wider and 1 drop in ratio).

The top graphic shows the difference between the front and rear diameters, keeping the difference under the 1% rule of thumb.

The bottom graphic shows the speedometer error going from the OEM 255/35 rear to a 275/35.

One thing to caveat is that i did not road test the car with the 275, but visual it had good clearance, both loaded and unloaded suspension. I know on my car with the 225 all seasons the speedometer is about 2-3 mph higher than GPS. Real world difference in calibration isn't going to be that bad
