Best guess on price, fellas?

If a loaded G87 is around $77k, I'm guessing this will go for $87-90k? Collective wisdom appreciated. Trying to decide on next car for street/track duties.

I would venture it costing somewhere in the mid $90s. I think the F87CS was mid $80s and the top spec F87 was what like $65K with all the options? Mine had them all and was like $62K but was a 6 speed.

+1 for this. Shame.

I hope you're right. My guess, it will be $98k base and loaded with CCB and a special color around $112k. Either way, I hope to get an allocation.

How many in this forum actually got a deposit down with a confirm allocation as long as the dealership gets an allocation.

Don’t forget to factor in dealer markups. It’ll be extremely hard in not impossible to get one at MSRP.

I dunno. $100k base for the lowest tier M car is a big ask.

I did the math on this before using multiple factors for comparison. Depending on what I used the price varied from low $90's to just under $100k. If I were placing a wager, I'd say the G87 M2 CS MSRP will be $89,800 since it's an entry level M car and easily exceed $100k with a few options.

What options do you think it'll have that will add another $10k+. Shouldn't the CS come with basically everything if it starts at $25k more than the standard M2? What are you getting for the extra $25k?

CCB alone are an $8,500 option, special colors, if offered are a $4,500 option.

CS models get more bracing all around to really stiffen up the chassis, but also revised tuning for the entire drivetrain. Doesn't seem like much but it completely transforms the car. Check out some reviews of the F87 CS and you'll see.

P.S. Don't forget ADM, that will screw most potential buyers from getting one.

I've read up on the supposed "upgrades" on the different CS models. Doesn't seem worth the price, imo. CCBs should be standard if this is a "track" version. Appears it's very similar to the Z07 pkg on Z06 Corvettes (which I have). I also don't think the Z07 components are worth the almost $20k price tag. Guess I'll be more than happy with my standard M2.

The CCB option will push it past $100k without a doubt. F87 got the full carbon treatment that wasn’t available for the comp car too.

Last year I called all the dealerships in my market and asked if they charge over MSRP. Only one dealership said they are an MSRP dealer. I asked if they would make a list for the unannounced M2 CS. They said yes, so I put a $2500 deposit down.

They did say that the VP usually takes all the cool cars, so I will be battling it out with him. Hopefully they get 2 allocations and we both can have one.

Forged wheels is the only thing I see besides some MP aero.

*see.

I’m not reinventing the wheel or coming up with anything new based on past CS releases, but we can be pretty confident that there will be -

- Drivetrain upgrades (ie. new suspension hardware)
- Suspension damper tuning
- Engine tuning
- Transmission tuning
- Less restrictive exhaust
- Little cosmetic changes everywhere (seats, badges, interior colours/materials/features)
- Likely more aero bits
- Light(er)weight forged wheels
- Maybe X-drive
- Material price jump over base M2

So it’ll be faster, more capable, and visually different from the base M2 in many ways. And then it’ll be the giant forum debate about how “I could spend the price difference on my M2 and run circles around the CS” and how “I’m happy with my 202[x], don’t see the value here” and the usual “what was BMW thinking, they’ve lost their way” etc.

  • M2 CS details:
    • In production 08/25-07/26
    • Will get the wheels off the big brother CS/CSLs, carbon roof, bucket seats, alcantara steering wheel as standard
    • Automatic transmission only.
M2 CSL is the only variant that would make me run to the dealership and demand that they take my money. CS formula just seems a bit recycled at this point.. a little more hp, auto only, buckets, cf roof, lighter wheels and special accents.

^^ You forgot ZF8-only.

They also limit the color options on the CS, correct?

Going by the M4 CSL pricing, would you be willing to spend CAD$170,000+ OTR for an M2 CSL, though?

I'd guess it would be about $145k CAD. I'm not far off that amount in mods for my car, so I'd absolutely throw that on a CSL without question. They would probably shave 250lbs while boosting power to 550hp.. in a rear wheel drive car that sounds like a fucking blast.
