May I ask how much it was adding to your build? Taking in consideration the alignment is included.

The BMW USA site lists 2 different suspension options, the Sports suspension and the Coilover kit. I’m assuming the MPHAS kit is the sports suspension?

I talked to KW today and they confirmed this:

Hello,

Thanks for your request.

You`re right -- there is no HAS kit available for this car type at the moment . It could be that the M3/4 kits fits maybe in -- but this is not tested , you need other axle loads, and spring rates!!!

But, we are in the developing process for this product. There is no fix date, which I could send as info -- but there will be a HAS available for this car in the future.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Best regards
So at this point I wonder why Bmw offers the same HAS for M2 and M3/4.

On their Instagram they dropped some pics, looks spot on.

Who do you trust more, KW or BMW? The chief platform and the suspension engineers would have had to clear the M HAS to be offered on the G87. Otherwise BMW wouldn’t be offering it as an option.

I believe in the difference between "can fit" and "specifically designed for".

To me, having the same part number makes no sense. Take a look at the rear stock height difference between a G80 and a G87. It's massive. The G80 rear barely needs to be dropped while the G87 needs multiple inches.

So while the kit can technically work with both cars, the spring rates aren't the same.

Side note:

Talked to H&R and we should see their HAS kit available in 6-8 weeks now that they've finished testing and entering production shortly.

Yet BMW specifically updated the documentation and TUV certification on the part for the G87. Why would they go through all that trouble for a part that “wasn’t designed” for the G87? Of course KW and H&R are going to tell you they’re developing parts for the G87. They want to sell you their product too. So who do you trust more, BMW or them?

Simple. Cost savings. Why would they want to make a one-off HAS kit for such a small niche car? They’ll save millions in R&D costs and production by lumping it in with the G80/G82 application.

BMW has cut so many corners lately that at this point I trust H&R and KW. Two giants in the suspension world will do their due diligence. If they come back and tell me it’s the same product, great, but I think they’ll come back with some tweaks.
