M wheels are forged, but I don't have the weight of the G87 wheels. I'd get other wheels regardless, not a fan of the 930M design in either color.

Are these definitely forged? Considering the design is the same as the M3 wheels but with a different code I wonder if they aren’t the same construction.

Although below from press release seem to suggest sunroof is standard.

"There are two roof variants for the new BMW M2: an electrically operated glass slide/tilt moonroof offering a glass surface now larger by nearly 20 percent compared with the outgoing model is standard equipment. A weight-reducing M Carbon roof panel is optional and deletes the moonroof."
To me, variants are just that, variants of the original form a.k.a. steel roof without sunroof.

So I agree, steel no-sunroof is standard, and the variants are CF or steel w/sunroof.

That list shows H/K surround system - is that the base or only system? Or is it an upgrade? No way to know from that. M240i has optional h/k which by all accounts is a big upgrade from the F87 h/k system we got standard here (not a difficult achievement!). Nice to see "full" Merino leather available. And the optional CF trim isn't that "dry" stuff in the F87. But it won't come cheap either, partly because it will include CF trim on the steering wheel, and CF paddles for the ZF8.

It's great to have all these options available - only downside is that "checking all the boxes" is gonna shoot the price into the stratosphere.
The G20 330i made-in-Mexico in my garage starts with a W, so does my Hungarian made TTRS

Noticed that too. Maybe explained by 11DM Type Code?? Factory is 11th position and 8 is SLP.

What's your beef with ACC or remote start?

I can take or leave ACC, although it is hella cool to see in action (plus is safer than Tesla's system) and remote start is God sent in the fall/winter season.. I hope I could figure a way to jailbreak and code in the latter feature..

BMW only uses 3MW in NA....Mexican built vehicles use the WB* designation for the rest of the world. Only the NHTSA is anal about the VIN world manufacturing designation matching the exact country of origin...most other countries could care less.

Cool nerdy info, I love it..

So thanks to the US regulations, the North American M2 get exclusive an VIN designation, a slightly different front bumper (mandatory amber side reflector) & taillights (red turn signals), side impact airbags & and emergency trunk release (US requirement only).

BMW must love the fact that they are forced to spend the extra resources to keep up with the man's rules.

Is that balanced with the EUs emissions restrictions?

It will be interesting to see what US market gets charged for ZF8. I don't believe there is another BMW model sold with ZF8 as a standalone option.
The manual option will never be an up-charge in the US.. Not because BMW are not greedy bastards but they would get annihilated in the presses and the bad publicity would not be worth the few bucks they make in the process.

All the media outlets, even late night comedians, picked up on when BMW was proposing charging a subscription fee for heated seats and turned it into a dumpster fire. BMW spent weeks on damage control in the US market.

Over the last few month when everyone was crying about inflation, it was expected that major companies such as Apple and Sony was going increase the prices of their products, which they did in every single region except the US. Not because they love North America but they understand fully well that the court of public opinion runs the show here and so they'll just find some other sly way to pad the bill.

https://youtube.com/shorts/FkPa2MDNFQI?feature=share
US companies like Apple only increase their prices over seas because they are a U.S. based company and the dollar is super strong right now killing the value of other currencies. It wasn't a PR decision.

I'd say the EU emissions requirements give BMW way more headaches than a few bumper and reflector mods.
