It's a stupid song, get over it. Trump didn't gesture to the damned song and he's one step away from President so let it go. I am a Veteran of Color and I'll proudly say that nationalism is overrated and only shows how divided these states really are. So if you're that proud of the USA, trade your German made BMW for something shittier, oh, I mean more patriotic!

First, to all who have put their life on the line to protect the rights of people to disagree CIVILY, THANK YOU!! If you are in the Oxnard area, standing offer exists for a home cooked and something to wash it down.

Now, on to Kap. I do NOT support his message, but the freedom he has to protest his government is one of those inalienable rights. Like many other sports "stars" who use their podium to make a statement. And what, 5 days later, it's still top news and we are still discussing it. For the wrong reason, but still discussing it.

It may be too much credit, but kudos to him for having the courage of his convictions (however misguided they may be)

Karpernick is a hypocrite because the NFL ( they just hired the police chief of Wash D.C. ) uses cops, ex-cops and private investigators to thwart; murder, rape, domestic abuse and assult investigations - and that hadn't prevented Kaepernick from choosing the NFL as a profession.
And if you don't think the NFL and cops thwart investigation, research Roethlisberger, Ray Rice.

I'm an active duty US Service member and while I don't agree with how he's doing it I support his right to free speech and peaceful dissension. That is, after all, what this country is founded on.
I'm sure not every vet agrees with me and that's okay. I put on the uniform for everybody, not just for those who agree with me.
