Another thing to keep in mind is if you run E85, you need to change your oil more frequently.
Based on oil analysis, I lost 2500 miles (from 7500 to 5000) of TBN retention using Redline oil. No more extended OCI for me.

What weight oil are you guys getting?

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

I got a new N63 engine under the Bang Class action and noticed the first fill was LL12 FE. I asked the dealer and was informed this is the new standard across the board (even through all posts say it's Diesel only for single turbo). Given issues I had with valve stem seals on old engine with LL01 high SAPS oil, I am going to keep using LL12 0W30 Fuchs brand and change the oil myself every 5K miles. No oil consumption, better gas mileage by at least 1 mile/gallon albeit a new engine. Low TBN (~8.9) should be OK if I'm changing every 5K.

Piggybacking off this thread, anyone know why my CBS might suddenly go from 10K intervals to 5K? Changed it at 8K, 16K, 26K, 36K (maintenance reminder came on each time). At 39K it still said some 8K miles to go, then suddenly I was overdue by 30 miles at 41K (no countdown). 80%+ highway miles. Quite a few on this thread seem to be doing 5K OCI but it seems excessive for this usage and very weird how it suddenly went to this interval

Yes, it was specifically oil change which I did less than 5K ago along with brake fluid, which is why I was so shocked. Used the oil level checker function and it was also full.

I've been using Pennzoil 5w 30 euro L but want to switch to 0w 30. Liqui Molly seems to be a good choice but which particular formula should I go with ?

I use whatever the dealer puts in it, but I could probably use cooking oil since I don't drive my car hard at all.

5w-30 Pentosin, use Mobil 5w-30 "High Mileage" for topping off when it's low.
Thinking about switching to Liquid Moly 5w-40, maybe the Molygen.

Just put Castrol 0W-40 in both my cars.
It used to be good enough for BMW, but it's still good enough for Audi, VW, MB, Porsche... Pretty sure I'll be fine. |

Where are you that you can't get it?
My 0W-40 German Castrol is actually being phased out of the BMW LL01 in Canada. I know LL01 isn't really a requirement some say but I just found that curious and was the main reason why I decided to switch. |

California. Supply has been limited so Amazon has jacked up the price to almost $100/6 quarts. That is more expensive than Redline lol
