Disgusting abomination. What a way to kill the name, and the reliability issues wont help at all. I just may have to buy a second mkiv or an M4, this thing is a total massive let down.
Exterior is way to busy with ugly lines that don't flow at all. Interior is ugly as sin, nothing whatsoever like the perfect mkiv one. For 50k car it looked especially cheap shit. Overweight and under powered. If they had any brains at all they'd call this thing a Celica and move the Supra name to lexus. Blatant cheap cash grab on their part. Honestly hard to believe how close to the concept it is. I think it looks great. I'm more surprised how much BMW is in it. It's a BMW Supra than Toyota Supra. Between this and Z4 I'd pick the Supra cause how much more unique it looks.
The steering wheel is minor redesign from older BMW cars. Would rip it off and put a M spec wheel. If they ever release a Targa version, I'd think it'll be a must have.

LMAO! The last gen Supra was ugly as hell. It looked like a fat whale with a wannabe F40 wing next to the beautiful FD RX-7 and 300ZX TT at the time. Hell even the Mitsubishi 3000GT and Dodge Stealth VR4 looked better. At least the 2020 Supra doesn’t look as flabby and gross. I do agree with you that the 335 hp engine is severely underpowered in today’s age, particularly when the Z4 comes with 382 hp. That’s beyond lame. |

.... I think it’s a good modern interpretation of the previous generation Supra, exterior-wise. I’ve got no problem with the “beak” design. I prefer it over the now over used 4-5 sided mainstays grill manufacturers keep recycling over and over. Interior reminds me a lot of the e9x interiors. Would’ve liked a more driver centric design, with less obvious use of bmw switch gear and buttons. For me, it’s definitely a car worth considering, but that weight is such a disappointment...I thought I read somewhere it was going to be at ~3200lbs. At nearly 3400lbs, I believe that makes it heavier than cars like the super old 370z, and the larger V6 camaro.
I certainly hope that this car doesn’t fall short on tuning potential. Especially considering how it was explicitly stated that that was a focus with this car. |

It was supposed to be lighter but the addition of all the safety stuff(Toyota's TSS) and creature comforts(10 way adj seats, etc) piled on the pounds.

A good inside look into the new Supra by Schmeagle. You get a really good idea of all the shared bmw parts in there. And of course dude already bought one.

What's up with the headrest? Looks like it'll force your head forward, looks horribly uncomfortable.
Even the preview image from one of the videos above, you can see the driver has his head forced forward. What the hell, how can you sit like that? I already get annoyed with the "active" headrests in my E92 that make it really hard to achieve a comfortable seat position, but this looks even worse, like a long drive will truly f**k up my neck. |

See here: https://www.iihs.org/iihs/sr/statusr...article/40/2/1 And yeah as we can see the safety reg was initiated through a poorly thought out test and with poor understanding of proper posture and use of the head "restraint" http://www.yogaback.com/new-car-head...r-forward.html Last edited by IllSic_Design; 01-14-2019 at 11:27 PM.. |

So would you get this or the M2 Competition? It's a no brainer with more interior space, manual or DCT, S55 vs B58. The Supra does get adaptive suspension though.

Touche. Now that you mention it, it DOES have that Tiburonesque look. Damn! Can't get that comparison out of my head now.

People who are required by their state to fit a front licence plate (which includes all of my country) are gonna lose their shit. Where is it supposed to go?

I think we need to wait for reviews to see if it's serious at being a sports car, or just pretending.
