Off the line, yes. Beyond that, I don't see how a car with 60 less bhp with 400 more lbs (plus rwd) can be slower after ~60 mph, regardless of gearing.

I'm sure it will be quick in the 1/4 mile though. It loses steam after 200 km/h as evidenced by this video. However, this is one piece of info, thus it cannot be conclusive. A more accurate assessment of its abilities can be made once more data is available. Other actual gps times they've posted (link from the description) are as follows: 100-200 km/h 5.91 0-250 km/h 14.37 Last edited by Topspeed; 06-12-2020 at 05:12 AM.. |

i'm sure there are going to be quite a few 992 turbo owners who want to put the hurt on their buddy's 720s or telsa p100d lol.
I can see this car pulling a high 9 sec 1/4 mile with a tune, exhaust, e85.

I'd still take a GT car hands down over a Turbo S. And have.

Most enthusiasts would agree. A 6 speed 997 GT3 RS would be my dream daily driver. It's the straight line speed, especially from launch, that makes the Turbo so appealing.

I agree. In a straight line my 991.2 Turbo S was a hoot. That's just not the kind of driving I like to do. In the corners, it felt bloated and too softly sprung. Straight line blasts are fun for a bit, but eventually get boring.

The 911 just keeps getting larger and more expensive. Even the base model is basically $100k. Too much in my opinion.
However they've got us by the balls. Used 911s don't depreciate much, and with any used German car you'll have the associated joy of high maintenance costs and having your days spoiled by some sort of new service light going off. Old German cars generally only make sense as weekend drivers. So leasing a new one is a strong proposition.
