The 100-200 km/h time for the Turbo S in the comparison you're referring to was 5.6 seconds (with no slope data posted) so 1.2 seconds is a reasonable time. The Turbo S is never going to be a 5.2 second 60-130 mph car. That's hypercar territory. You can't do those kind of figures weighing almost 1700 kg in the real world. The GT2RS (6.5 seconds) can't even post anything remotely close to such a time, and it weighs considerably less, with more power.

Maybe not, I’m still interested in seeing some more data. I think you’ll see times in the 5.x range.

You really think it's going to be faster than the GT2RS?

Off the line, yes. Beyond that, I don't see how a car with 60 less bhp with 400 more lbs (plus rwd) can be slower after ~60 mph, regardless of gearing.

When is the base 911 Turbo coming out? Not a fan of CCBS, plus the base will probably be $30k cheaper.

If you look at the GPS speed 300 (316 on the clock) is reached in about 29 seconds which really isn't that impressive. It's about a second quicker than the old car which was never that fast to 300. Someone compared it it to a 488. For perspective, they ran a 488 as well on the same day and it took 25.3. I won't mention any of the direct competitors. That info is easy enough to find.

I'm sure it will be quick in the 1/4 mile though. It loses steam after 200 km/h as evidenced by this video.
However, this is one piece of info, thus it cannot be conclusive. A more accurate assessment of its abilities can be made once more data is available.

Other actual gps times they've posted (link from the description) are as follows:

100-200 km/h 5.91
0-250 km/h 14.37

i'm sure there are going to be quite a few 992 turbo owners who want to put the hurt on their buddy's 720s or telsa p100d lol.

I can see this car pulling a high 9 sec 1/4 mile with a tune, exhaust, e85.

Most enthusiasts would agree. A 6 speed 997 GT3 RS would be my dream daily driver. It's the straight line speed, especially from launch, that makes the Turbo so appealing.

I agree. In a straight line my 991.2 Turbo S was a hoot. That's just not the kind of driving I like to do. In the corners, it felt bloated and too softly sprung. Straight line blasts are fun for a bit, but eventually get boring.

The 911 just keeps getting larger and more expensive. Even the base model is basically $100k. Too much in my opinion.

However they've got us by the balls. Used 911s don't depreciate much, and with any used German car you'll have the associated joy of high maintenance costs and having your days spoiled by some sort of new service light going off. Old German cars generally only make sense as weekend drivers. So leasing a new one is a strong proposition.
